Nokia’s Android powered “Normandy” device has been leaked for quite some time now; we know that it will be an entry level device, available in multiple colors and set to take on the lower end Androids. And now we have a reveal date thanks to the Wall Street Journal, who have been informed that the Android powered device will be unveiled at MWC ’14 in Barcelona.

The Normandy, follows closely in the Lumia and Asha design language, but we have yet to hear a solid confirmation on what it will be officially called (rumors point to Nokia X); the exact price also remains a mystery, but expect it to be Sub $100.

What do you guys think, anyone excited for MWC and what’s to come?

WP 8.1 Action Center Settings Show Up in Chinese Build (on Lumia 920)

Screen Shot 2014-02-09 at 11.45.24

Yesterday we got our first glimpse at what the real Action/Notification center on WP 8.1 will actually look like and it wasn’t half bad, there was an option for 4 quick shortcuts at the top of the bar to quickly toggle settings on and off (as seen above). Now it appears that a (blurry) image of the settings for the notification center have leaked, from a Chinese Lumia 920 running WP 8.1, you can spot the four shortcut boxes which appear to be customizable, similar to the notifications you can get on your lockscreen. So far they seem to be customizable to Data, Wifi, Drive Mode, Airplane Mode, Bluetooth and GPS; so pretty much anything you’d need on the fly.

Bing vision wasn’t any use translating the rest of the text in the image, so if any knows Mandarin/Chinese you could do us a favor by translating down below, thanks.

Microsoft’s OneDrive to Feature Referral and Camera Roll Upload Bonuses

We previously reported that Microsoft were renaming their cloud storage service to OneDrive after running into some legal issues, now as the launch of OneDrive approaches more details about the re-branded service are surfacing.

According to Liveside, OneDrive will feature a referral bonus when a user gets their friends to sign up (similar to the dropbox setup), with 500 Mbs per friend, with up to 10 friends. OneDrive will also feature a “camera roll bonus” which will give users who use the auto-upload to skydrive feature from their WP devices and extra 3 Gbs of space. A welcome feature for sure, but I’d love it to be more like Google who doesn’t count ANY backed up photos or images against your storage limit, but we’re getting there.

What do you guys think of the new features? Hopefully it’ll get more people to adopt skydrive, and Microsoft will continue to improve their cloud storage service with time.
