Skype integration in People Hub coming to WP Posted: 03 Mar 2013 05:02 PM PST Ali posted earlier about Joe Belfiore stating the “other” storage bug getting a fix soon. It appears that isn’t all we got out of him. Apparently Skype will be getting integrated into the People Hub.
The wording of the tweet makes it seem like Skype is the only thing that needs to be updated. If that is the case, we may see it released before the next Windows Phone update, or even a fair while after. Also, it would mean it is from the Store, suggesting a global rollout independent of carrier/unlocked handset types. Either way, it is just awesome to know that updates of any kind are coming! Microsoft Working on a Fix for WP Phantom “Other” Storage Posted: 03 Mar 2013 08:47 AM PST Windows Phone users might have spotted an annoying storage issue where the “other” storage partition of the system would constantly expands reaching ridiculous sizes. In part some storage can be reclaimed by some apps such as ”Shrink storage” I can’t testify to its effectiveness but others seem to have had good results. In the mean time head of the Windows Phone team at Microsoft Joe Belfiore commented on the issue, stating that it “will get better” with future updates, in the mean time auto upload to skydrive should ease the pain slightly.

Video: A decade of 3G phones from Three – How many Nokias can you see? Posted: 03 Mar 2013 07:10 AM PST
UK network Three is turning 10 and to celebrate they’re looking back at their portfolio of 3G devices. I remember seeing one of the first 3G enabled video calling phones (not a Nokia) and thinking “that’s really ugly…but that feature is pretty cool”. I’d have loved to be on Three right now but they didn’t have the 920 at the time (now they do) as their signal tends to be better in built up areas, plus they’re a lot more friendly when it comes to mobile internet (I’m looking at you, ee, and your persistent) crappiness.

Marko announcing the 720. Quality of this video is pretty bad. Props for the announcement being from Marko and not Harlow.
