New “leaks” account suggests Nokia Lumia 1520v is a 4.5″ Nokia Lumia 930 with 1080p screen.

Another account following the “_something___leaks” social media trend, “nextleaks” reckons that the 1520v we’ve been talking about will be called Nokia Lumia 930. Similar 4.5″ screen to the 92x range but with a 1080p display.

The previous tweet mentions that Nokia Asha 4xx is the Nokia Normandy device. Interesting since Nokia Normandy appears to be better spec’d than the Nokia Asha 5xx range, but then again the 620 could be considered a better purchase than the 710.

We can’t really verify anything this twitter account is saying. The existence of a 930 isn’t that far fetched given the growingly confusing naming system of Nokia devices.

Speaking of Normandy, I’m not sure if we posted this @evleaks tweet from last week.

Weekend Watch: Moga Controller and Nokia Lumia 920

MOGA

Here’s a look at the Moga Controller demoed with the Nokia Lumia 920 and Dungeon Hunter 4 as well as Asphalt 7.

At least from the video it works quite well. It’s also said to be compatible with the GBA emulator.

Leaked? Revamped Xbox Games Hub for Windows Phone 8.1

Posted: 26 Jan 2014 07:49 AM PST

Be6ZFTPCcAELNg9It seems as if the Xbox games center in Windows Phone 8.1 may be due for a visual overhaul. According to “WPLeaker” we’re looking at the new UI that’s set to come with WP 8.1; which appears to bring a cleaner interface, as well as listing the games in your collection in a tiled interface, rather than the boring lists currently available. There’s also “smartglass integration” but I thought that was already available?

Regardless the new UI looks nice and clean, and although I don’t really use the hub besides for launching games it would be nice to have a fresh look, what do you guys think?

Video: Cortana Voice Assistant in Action

Posted: 26 Jan 2014 07:41 AM PST

CortanaApparently there is now a video of the new voice assistant for Windows Phone in action, the new assistant named Cortana; after the virtual assistant in the Halo series is said to be much more capable and to rival Siri or Google Now. The video below shows the assistant overlayed on what appears to be Here maps (or Transit), alerting the user that the next train is leaving soon, and giving him the option to ask for a reminder to leave.

Update: According to Tom Warren this is FAKE, and I’m inclined to follow what Tom says.

Hopefully Cortana will actually work properly and not just be another poorly implemented feature, but until we see for ourselves what do you guys think? Real or fake? And what do you think of the implementation.

1520v possibly coming with Windows Phone 8.1? 1520 Viisi (Finnish for 5/”V”) with 768p screen?

Lumia-1520V-settings

Leak or fake? WPBar.cn  has come across a screenshot that details the Nokia Lumia 1520V.

The SOC is the snapdragon 8974 or Snapdragon 800 as seen in the 1520.

I’ve only just noticed that Viisi is Finnish for 5 (V). Looking at the previous comments, this is what Janne suggested.

And if 1520V is indeed short for "1520Viisi", viisi is five in Finnish. An internal code of a 5″ Lumia 1520 variant would make much more sense than a 1520V product name, let alone the 4.4″ incher in that picture.

Some other 5″ variant of 1520 sounds perfectly possible of course. But I don't think it is the one pictured.

With a 768p screen on a smaller sized display, I hope to see that triple column affair going on with the other lumias (at least have the option available). The 1320 of course has a 720p display over 6″ (with MS noting triple column is to do with size rather than resolution).

LeakyLeak: Blurrycam front of supposed Nokia Lumia 1520v?

1520v

The above picture is supposedly another shot of the Nokia Lumia 1520v, the 1520 but in a pocketable size. Why call it the 1520? Possibly the same way Nokia went with the N97 mini? Or how Galaxy S3/4 now have ‘mini’ versions?

The alignment of the buttons is similar to smaller sized Lumias. Note however that they are slightly closer to the bottom, where as the 920/1020 are closer to the screen. Also the bottom edges appear to me more rounded like the 1520/925. The triple column is clearly seen here (though could be any screenshot).

Here’s a quick 2 minute video showing Lumia Black for the Nokia Lumia 720. Here you can see the updated glance and double tap to unlock (was this not available in Amber?).

The ROM may be found here: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1c08BrqS though usual warnings and cautions about uninstalling ROMs. Do it at your own risk.

Speaking of 720 with black, this next video is longer, about 5 minutes.

LeakyLeak: 20MP Nokia Lumia ICON (929) ‘live’ dummy model accidentally appears at Fry’s Electronics as 928

Shared on Reddit by  L064N, Frys store seems to20 have outed Verizon’s Nokia Lumia ICON, but labelled it as the 928. Note the 20MP PureView, Dual LED flash and triple column home screen. Note as with previous leaks, the clock says 1020.

These are actual hands on of Verizon’s device in a physical store, suggesting perhaps that these are very ready to ship?
