Lumia 925 Uses Windows Button as Notification Light? Posted: 21 Jun 2013 12:32 PM PDT The guys at winsource spotted something interesting about the Lumia 925 in the latest Nokia commerical; the Windows button on the device is blinking while in standby mode. Previously we heard that the Windows button would act as an indicator to whether the device is charging or not (when off); so perhaps it doubles out as a notification light when on? I haven’t heard any-one mentioning this on their Lumia 925′s so perhaps it’s part of a future software update on the way? Something blue perhaps?

Posted: 21 Jun 2013 12:05 PM PDT Questions, questions, questions. This blurry video shows off a Nokia Lumia 920 but it seems to have folders (behaving like one of the concepts we’ve shown here) and a swipe down notification centre it seems. Real or Fake? Haha. New channel too “mati leaks“.
Cheers v.s.i for the tip As he said in the tip, “Now we only need X to close and browser sync. Also, a file manager would be nice. ” |
The Independent puts Nokia Lumia 925 as top of 10 best new smartphones Posted: 21 Jun 2013 07:51 AM PDT
The Independent has compiled a list of 10 best new smartphones, of which the Nokia Lumia 925 reigns at the top. Having said that, ‘new’ still includes the likes of the 2012 released iPhone 5. The S4 is on that list, but the HTC One isn’t Neither is the BBZ10.
Cheers Derrek for the tip! |
Nokia Lumia 925 Commercial: Don’t Flash; Amaze Posted: 21 Jun 2013 06:59 AM PDT The latest Nokia commercial is slightly “weird” in fact it doesn’t seem to be a Nokia commercial as the 925 is only in focus for a few precious seconds; on the other hand the zombie iPhone 5 users are quite obvious front and center. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhykBMh5IkQ
At first I thought it was showing all the hidden secrets of the night that you can reveal with the 925′s low light camera, then I realized that those “zombies” are probably just how ugly those low light pictures come out as (I think that was the message right?) Michael: While the video is funny in a way, I still think Nokia needs to get better ads. The Lumia 920 ad (where they showed of PureMotion HD+, and Qi Wireless Charging etc) was good! Felt they would continue the style of showing off features by literally listing them and what they do, instead of trying to be witty. |
Waze Crowd-Sourced Navigation Enters WP Beta Testing Posted: 21 Jun 2013 12:53 AM PDT Waze is a pretty popular navigating app that has the huge plus of being completely crowd-sourced, meaning you get live traffic, accident, cheapest gas prices and most importantly police/speed trap warnings on your maps. The app is pretty useful and depends on the community to update and improve their maps, well here are a couple screenshots of the newly released beta version for WP (private beta, so not everyone can download it). I guess I never actually wanted/needed this app because HERE maps are so awesome, but if this brings me live traffic that would be amazing.

Temple Run does NOT work on 512mb devices – @TempleRun lied? Posted: 20 Jun 2013 09:23 PM PDT So Ali posted up yesterday that Temple Run is available for devices with 512mb RAM (as tweeted by Joe Belfiore and the devs behind Temple Run. It seems though, that is not the case.
I cracked out the Lumia 520 to do a comparison between it and the 820 – to get stopped by this! (Same error on my Lumia 720 as well :/ ) Not sure the app hasn’t fully populated the store or what – but it seems there are several other users getting the error too! (You can see though that it is showing the latest update being only the other day – so it would seem the update has at least populated my store) C’mon guys, sort yourselves out! |
