Video: Nokia Lumia 928 ad from Microsoft – Erase the photobombers Posted: 05 Jun 2013 03:40 PM PDT Promoting uniquely Nokia things again, Nokia’s buddy, it’s Microsoft . This time it’s the Nokia Lumia 928 using Nokia Smart Shoot. I can’t wait for them to tout Nokia Smart Camera (It’s just so much more intuitive/convenient to use)

LeakyLeak: More EOS Pics, This Time From the Front Posted: 05 Jun 2013 03:18 PM PDT Vizileaks is really making a name for him/her-self; posting a third picture of the EOS, this time against the Blackberry (torch I think?) which looks absolutely dwarfed besides it. In this picture it does appear as if the screen is slightly curved (bottom corners?) but perhaps I’m imagining things?
Come on Nokia! Launch this baby already!

Lumia 925 Possibly Heading to At&t as Well? Posted: 05 Jun 2013 02:57 PM PDT Although upon launch the Lumia 925 was promised to land on T-mobile’s network in the US, some evidence has appeared proving that it might be slotted for an At&t release as well. Of course At&t are no strangers to Nokia, being the first to embrace their return to the United States, with the 900, then striking exclusivity for the 920 & 820 (and if rumors are to be believed the EOS soon). The folks over at NokiaPowerUser spotted an At&t variant of the device (RM-893) on casual gamer. As well as support for At&t’s LTE bands on the Nokia developer site which makes this more believable, but where would the 925 fit in against the 920, 820 and EOS? Via

Design Tweaks: Nokia EOS Circle Hump idea/concept Posted: 05 Jun 2013 02:36 PM PDT The lump/hump/bump in these early set of photos is a bit like marmite. Some love it, some don’t. I remember really disliking the 808 during launch but it grew on me. Is that the hump in general, preferring flush phones or could the hump be modified? Becoming synonymous for MyDreamNokia, Edgar Mkrtchyan has some ideas to rework the EOS. What do you think?

Lumiappdates: Proshot and HDR Photocamera updated. Posted: 05 Jun 2013 02:35 PM PDT Couple of imaging apps just got another update, ProShot and HDR photocamera. The former I think gets some bug fixes whilst the latter gets batch processing workflow, bugs/stability improvements and manager for application external storage. |
Nokia EOS from all angles (black) Posted: 05 Jun 2013 02:24 PM PDT
When it rains, it pours. Have some more EOS photos. GSM Arena has some more pics from various angles. Looks quite slim in the second pic (just above).
Thanks Slayer for the tip.

Amazon Deal: Unlocked Lumia 920 for $388 (Black) Posted: 05 Jun 2013 02:18 PM PDT Taking a break from all those tasty EOS leaks, here’s a pretty sweet for you folks; the Lumia 920 is showing up on Amazon for $388 UNLOCKED! Which is a pretty sweet deal all things considered.Grab them while they last (in black only) over on Amazon (fulfilled by Amazon too so no worries):
And in case you want some matching accessories, the MD-100W PowerUp speakers are still priced at $150 on Amazon (even though it says out of stock some people are reporting that their orders have been shipped and received-Most of them were the black color)- but be prepared for some waiting time possibly.

Tutorial: Time Lapse with the Nokia 808 PureView Posted: 05 Jun 2013 01:27 PM PDT Timelapse, a favourite activity of mine since the old Symbian keyboard phone days, and they’re still as fascinating as ever. You might have seen some from the Nokia 808 PureView. Here’s a really good tutorial and set of samples on how to make your own timelapse by Olivier Noirhomme. Using the 38MP mode on the 808 means you have a lot of detail to play with. This helps when adding movement such as zooming or possibly even panning. You basically want to capture interesting movement/changes that are difficult to see in real time. E.g. movement of the sun, changing from night to day, the filling of snow, opening of a flower bud etc. Experiment with timing intervals. Pay attention to white balance and exposure as you’ll notice this a lot if they’re not consistent. Alternatively there are apps that do this.
Cheers Alvester for the tip! |
LeakyLeak: Automatic Shutter cover for Nokia EOS Posted: 05 Jun 2013 01:10 PM PDT It’s All About the EOS tonight. ViziLeaks has another shot of the Nokia EOS PureView Camera, this time with the lens covered up by the automatic lens cover. No dust or smudging happening here when it’s in your pocket that ruins images even from the likes of the N8/808. I don’t mind having a camera bump for ME as long as it justifies itself in quality and consistency. A lot of our readers a while back voted pretty much in favour of having a bump in the discussion session of the N8 successor (prior to 808 announcement). For the mass market, it’ll take some convincing. Slim is the thing now, but then again, so were tiny miniscule phones and now look how wide they are. Hopefully the Nokia EOS provides a sufficient advantage that people won’t mind having that humpy bit. It seems slim enough for holding in portrait. Ladies and phablets already have bags to carry larger tech devices in.
Cheers ABC for the heads up! |
Leakyleak: Closeup of EOS’s Camera Lens Posted: 05 Jun 2013 09:38 AM PDT A new contender into the leaking arena “Vizileaks” has just posted an image of a closeup of the Nokia EOS’s camera lens/module. It certainly looks nicer than the previous images we saw, and matches up to them nicely (perhaps a bit too much? Possible Fake?). Either way the image carries the same large round camer sensor with a Xenon flash and Led/Focus light; plus a mighty large lens.
What do you guys think? It’s not unheard of early prototypes to carry XX Mp instead of the true number (the same happened with the 808).
