Laptop Magazine: 10 Amazing Pictures Taken with the Nokia Lumia 1020 Posted: 27 Aug 2013 12:57 PM PDT The Staff Photographer at Laptop Magazine, Jeremy Lips has been playing about with the Nokia Lumia 1020 and has shared some of his top 10 photos. The one above, he tried to do on the iPhone 5 and an advanced point and shoot, but both paled in comparison to the 1020.
In some shots, you see the power of Zoom Reinvented. You get an amazing pic to begin with, but then you can recompose that shot again and again. Cheers That guy for the tip! |
Video Promo: Sleek Black Nokia Lumia 925 for AT&T – shows off Nokia Pro Cam Posted: 27 Aug 2013 12:43 PM PDT You heard earlier today that the Nokia Lumia 925 was no longer a T-Mobile USA exclusive for the US, and is now at AT&T. Here’s their promo which shows off the now available Pro Cam (I find it takes better pictures in general than the default one somehow though in auto).

Rumors: Windows RT to be Merged With Windows Phone Posted: 27 Aug 2013 08:02 AM PDT More rumors have surfaced regarding the fate of Windows RT, the latest of which claims that somewhere down the line Windows RT and WP will merge together.
Of course this would be the logical move, and should have been Microsoft’s ultimate goal all along, this would allow both the tablet space, and the phone space to piggyback off each others success, rather than having each of them try and make it on their own. With the most recent rumors giving all the gritty details about Nokia’s upcoming RT tablet it starts looking like smart idea, push out a tablet now, and have it merge with WP later where you’re already leading. Then again these are still rumors with no concrete evidence, so you never know; the source also makes mention of what to expect in Windows 9 and 10 (not WP) so check that out below.

Nokia CR-200 Wireless Car Charger Unboxing Posted: 27 Aug 2013 07:54 AM PDT The CR-200 wireless car charger is one of the most useful accessories you can get for your Lumia in my opinion, for me it’s more of a necessity than a luxury. I finally got around to ordering one last week so here’re some quick thoughts and an unboxing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r5j9NEmrOM&feature=youtu.be The cradle slides open by pressing the “button” near the top, then you simply squeeze it shut onto your phone to get a snug fit. The cradle rotates on the axis of the base without any locking mechanism (but there is some notable friction resistance, so no need to worry about it slipping free), the suction cup on the bottom however is engaged by the lever that has the Nokia logo written on it. I wasn’t able to get the car mode to work yet, but I assume it requires the cradle to be plugged into a power source for some reason? I assumed NFC tags were passive so I don’t know why it didn’t work. |
Lumia 925 Coming to At&T September 13th for $99, Preorders Start Tomorrow (28th) Posted: 27 Aug 2013 07:43 AM PDT As the rumors rightfully predicted, the Lumia 925 is indeed headed for At&t’s doors, starting tomorrow you can place a pre-order for the device and pick it up on September 13th (in two weeks). The phone is priced at $99 with a 2 year contract, or upgrade from your existing phone with a monthly fee of $21 via At&t’s “next” program. I honestly can’t get over how sexy that black 925 is, it’s just so beautiful… |
Instagraph Brings Instagram Uploading to Nokia Belle/Symbian Posted: 27 Aug 2013 05:27 AM PDT Last month Instagraph, the Instagram uploading service went live for Asha devices, bringing one of the most sought out features to the masses. Well today Ventasoft have done it again as Instagraph is now available in the Ovi store for download onto Nokia Belle devices (presumably older devices too- in case you’re still running one).
The app is priced at € 3.00, but that’s a reasonable price considering it’s the first ever client of its kind for the platform. I’m guessing #Pureview on instagram is about to get a lot more popular? Download the app from here: http://store.ovi.com/content/388393?clickSource=search&pos=1 Thanks for the tip sadik |

Nokia tablet also spotted in AdDuplex stats Posted: 27 Aug 2013 04:15 AM PDT If yesterday's news wasn't enough to substantiate the rumour of Nokia launching a tablet, maybe today's news will. AdDuplex came across some new devices in their logs, a few new Surface devices, but also a few unnamed Nokia codenames. The first sighting was a RX-107 named device which first popped up late 2012. Subsequently they saw a RX-108 and after that RX-113 through RX-115. As it is pointed out by AdDuplex this might just be one device going through various stages of development or it could be 2 different products. Personally I think both the RX-107 and 108 are cancelled iterations of the tablet Nokia was supposedly going to launch earlier this year but backed out of due to lacklustre sales of Windows RT. The newer (or higher if you will) RX-113/115 numbers are possibly newer builds with different Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 based hardware. Whatever it will be, it is pretty much a given that Nokia will come out with a tablet at the end of this month. Something that is also corroborated by Paul Thurrott over at WinSuperSite. |
