Nokia’s exclusive apps extends outside the US, secures Shahid.net Posted: 03 Aug 2013 07:45 PM PDT Shahid.net is free ad-supported watch on demand TV service, that offers Arabic content owned by MBC which is the biggest TV network in the Arab world. Today @nokiaksa posted a picture announcing shahid.net exclusive app to Lumia, which is great news for anyone in the Arab world and also shows Nokia working for exclusivity outside the US for a change. The app is clean and easy and is helped by being a true exclusive for Nokia phones as its only available on the ipad as of yet, its refreshing to see exclusive app come to Windows Phone first specially in a market totally dominated by Android and BBs.
You can download the app by clicking here or using the QR picture bellow.

Dual Sim Variant of the Lumia 625 on the Way? Posted: 03 Aug 2013 07:09 AM PDT Until today Nokia have yet to release a single dual sim “smartphone” (read: No Ashas, I want a Lumia); something they seemed to have chalked down as a feature phone feature (read about my thoughts on that here). Recently however Qualcomm released a new chipset that supported dual sim capabilities in Windows Phone, the Snapdragon 200 series. Then Nokia Lebanon went ahead and tweeted the image above a few minutes ago, the phone in the image is a Lumia 625 if I’m not mistaken; but Dual Sim?
Perhaps this is a play on the Lumia 625 variant, maybe the 626 or something similar? Which would make the 625 a true competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Grand (5″ low resolution screen) that also has a Duos variant (dual sim). So what do you guys think? A mixup in the channels? Or will we be seeing a Dual sim lumia? And more importantly do you guys want one?

Instagram Uploads Come to Asha/S40 Thanks to Instagraph! Posted: 03 Aug 2013 06:35 AM PDT Instagram has always been called out as an “important” social network and as a “must have” on your phone by its fans, many avoiding WP for the single fact that it doesn’t have it. Well now not only does WP have multiple Instagram clients, but Nokia’s low end low cost OS does too! Instagraph (the first Insta client for WP 8 and 7) has just been ported into the Nokia store on Nokia Ashas/S40, complete with uploads (with filters)- unfortunately like the WP version there isn’t a viewer available yet, but you can always use instagram.com ! That’s a pretty huge deal for the budget market that was feeling left out, check out a video of it below courtesy of Nokia Innovation:
You can grab the app from the marketplace at the link below priced at £3.00 (not sure if it’s available for all S40 devices or only Ashas?)

AAS: Nokia Lumia 1020 vs Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom vs Nokia 808 PureView vs 925 Posted: 03 Aug 2013 02:25 AM PDT Quick heads up again as I’m still away camping with just my phone and low data. Steve Litchfield compared the Nokia Lumia 1020 against the likes of the Nokia 808 PureView, Lumia 925 and Galaxy S4 zoom.

Ars Techica: Nokia Lumia 1020, the smartphone to render point and shoots obsolete! Posted: 03 Aug 2013 01:22 AM PDT Quick heads up: Quite strong praises from the no nonsense Ars Techica who say the Nokia Lumia 1020 is the smartphone to render point and shoots obsolete. Just anecdotally, yesterday watching folks at a tourist area, pretty much everyone was snapping pictures on their phones, not a separate camera. It’s another well written article that goes on to explain the history and the technology behind the 1020. They said that Nokia set out to make the best smartphone camera and Nokia has succeeded.
