41 Megapixels for $49.99: AT&T Nokia Lumia 1020… Posted: 24 Jan 2014 03:46 PM PST Dear MNB Readers! The AT&T Nokia Lumia 1020 is currently on sale for the low price of $49.99 with a two year contract and applicable data and fee requirements. This is an excellent on contract price for one of the best Windows Phones and what is known to be ahead of the current smartphone competition (for example, the HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony and Apple made smartphones) in photography and videography. The Nokia Lumina 1020 has rightly earned its smartphone camera supremacy over the competition not only due to a high Megapixel count but also due to superior Zeiss optics, sensor size, Optical Image Stabilization, lossless zoom, Nokia Rich Recording during video and other PureView software algorithms. The 1020 is better than ever software and camera performance wise with the latest Windows Phone GDR3 and Lumia Black updates. The white balance and color accuracy on the Lumia 1020 is amazingly accurate now. The photo at the top of this article was taken with my 1020….look closely and you will see the 1020. Here are a few other photos showing off the improved white balance and color accuracy provided by the Nokia Lumia Black software update: Head on over to the AT&T website or give them a call to place your order for the worlds best, currently sold and marketed camera centric smartphone, now only $49.99 with a 2 year contract agreement. As always, thank you for continuing to choose MyNokiaBlog. Deaconclgi Source: PhoneArena

Upcoming Whatsapp Update to bring Detailed Options for Incoming Media Depending on Data Connection Posted: 24 Jan 2014 10:28 AM PST A recent update to the beta of Whatsapp brings the option to select detailed options for media download. Different settings can be applied depending on the data connection available; with option for WiFi, Data or roaming. Hopefully this update will also fix the speed and stability issues of Whatsapp, as currently it can get very unstable and crash when receiving multiple images or messages, there is also no word on the ability to place a custom background image to the chats; as honestly the plain black can get very ugly at times (especially when screenshotting). What other features would you guys like to see in future updates?

Lumia 1520V Leaked Again; 768p 4.4″ Screen and 2,370 mah Battery Posted: 24 Jan 2014 09:09 AM PST According to a new source we now have more live pics of the rumored Lumia 1520V; the device can be seen alongside the gigantic Lumia 1520 for size. The device looks like a replica of the 1520 scaled down to a smaller size, according to the source the screen size is 4.4″ with a 768p screen rather than the 1080p one was previously rumored. The battery is also rumored to be 2,370 mah, larger than most Lumia devices till now (except the 1520 and 1320). According to the source (possibly mixed in translation) the Lumia 1520V’s full name is “1520Viisi”. What do you guys think?

Nokia’s New Campaign for Glove Sensitive Screens Posted: 24 Jan 2014 06:10 AM PST Nokia ran a sweet little campaign to advertise their glove responsive Lumias in the cold winters of London. They used a billboard that revealed a secret message when the temperature was cold enough; then gave out free gloves and invited people off the street to try out a Lumia with the gloves on, check it out:
What do you guys think, is it a successful way to get the message across?

Nokia Lumia 929 found in CamSpeed results (NOKIA RM-927) Posted: 24 Jan 2014 12:31 AM PST
Sofica Cam Speed database tweeted that a new device had appeared. Nokia Lumia 929, RM-927 with 5mp oversampled resolution. It clocks in at number 437 with a mark of 334. This is in normal lighting, no flash. You can change the parameters around to see how other devices are doing in low/bright light and with flash. It should have similar performance speeds to the 1520.
How do you search for devices on that site? I’m interested to find out where the 1020 lies with its rather slow cam. Cheers hulkkii for the tip! |
Rudy Huyn now working on Official Tinder for WP “life’s too short to swipe left on WP” Posted: 24 Jan 2014 12:21 AM PST Rudy Huyn tweets that he’s gotten a call from Tindr CEO and the “awesome” Tindr team. He says he will ‘swipe right’ with them, sharing a picture that life is too short to swipe left on WP (is this some kind of reference to Tindr app? I’ve not used it so I don’t know). Later on, he does mention that he is now working on Tindr for WP. Nothing much more can be said except that he and the team are going to try to make the best user experience for it made.
Rudy, also the creator of 6tag and 6snap, is actively responding to tweets and emails from users of his apps. Check out his feed, he’s one busy and dedicated guy. Via: Reddit |
How To: Inserting the Micro SIM and Micro SD card into the Nokia Lumia 1320 Posted: 24 Jan 2014 12:12 AM PST This is a short video from Nokia Support Videos showing how to insert the Micro SIM card and Micro SD card into the Nokia Lumia 1320. Just remove the entire back cover by placing a thumb on one corner to push the cover off the phone. Then it’s just a matter of pushing the cards into their slots. This video is in Italian but it works just having the visuals too.

Rudy Huyn to Help Make an Official Tinder App for Windows Phone Posted: 24 Jan 2014 12:08 AM PST After Rudy Huyn published 6tindr a week or so ago, Tinder complained to Microsoft and had the app removed from the store (thankfully anyone who still has the app installed can use it). After some talks it seems that they have come to an agreement, and Rudy will assist in making the official Tinder app for Windows Phone a reality. This is reminiscent of the Instagram saga, where at first Instagram didn’t play nice with 3rd party clients on Windows Phone, but then gave Rudy their blessings to carry on with the 6Tag. *Side note: Tinder is pretty useless in Jordan, no-one here uses it
