So we just got back from Dinner with the Nokia Connects crew here in Barcelona, and before they sent us off for the night they gave us our local Spanish Sim cards, with a twist… The Sim cards came preinstalled in some awesome new Lumia 820′s that came with customized 3D printed  covers, made specific for each blog/blogger.

The covers are just a simple example of what you can do with a bit of creativity and the removable covers on the 820 and many others to come in the future, and we’re sure to see much more in this field in the future (and maybe tomorrow).

Nokia Lumia 920 – After The Buzz

Posted: 24 Feb 2013 01:33 PM PST

Screen Shot 2013-02-24 at 10.58.07The man with the voice of voices for video reviews, Michael Fischer returns to the Nokia Lumia 920 in their ‘After the Buzz’ section to determine how the Nokia Lumia 920 fares after some real life extended use. Now if you remember, PocketNow weren’t soo keen with the 8X and actually went and recommended the 920.

http://mynokiablog.com/2013/01/30/pocketnow-recommends-to-skip-the-htc-8x-over-other-devices-like-the-nokia-lumia-920-gives-you-more-for-your-money/

What are the findings from the 920 a few months on? Nokia’s apparently building the devices with the most staying power, giving the most value to MS’s ecosystem.

Update: We’re Live From Barcelona and Excited! – Come Dance With Nokia

Hey guys, just thought I’d drop a quick update; we reached Barcelona a couple hours ago (flight went by smoothly). As soon as we reached the hotel I hit up CJ (AKA Clinton Jeff) and we zoomed over to “Fira Gran Via” the new location for MWC this year. We got our badges printed and our NFC apps verified and did some quick scoping of the scene in anticipation of tomorrow’s action.

Nokia appear to be set up in hall 3 (all hush hush, no one allowed anywhere near there); but they did have some billboards stating “Come Dance With Us”. Of course we have no idea what that means; but it could be simply referring to the Nokia/Asha/Lumia dance they were doing at last years event:

Although Microsoft/Windows Phone don’t have a booth this year (AFIK) they are somehow the platinum sponsors of the event (In a show of true MSFT stubbornness rather than moving their TV truck a few feet, they decided to saw down the tree that was blocking the view- See pictures below). Hopefully we’ll see something from them this week, or at the very least a cameo at Nokia’s event to reassure/announce something regarding the platform.

*P.S.- It’s quite cold.

Nokia says to keep your eyes and ears open for next week at MWC :)

Screen Shot 2013-02-24 at 10.52.24Is it merely a phrase to look out for something that’s coming from Nokia or a hint on a new audio-visual experience with the much expected Nokia PureView?

Whatever it is, Nokia’s peeps are packing their bags to head over to MWC (if they aren’t there already of course).

Fingers crossed for some high end Lumias in addition to the 520 and 720.

Weekend Watch: O2′s cool real life Nokia City Lens with We Have Band

This is neat of O2 to do. They’ve gone and made Nokia City Lens in real life with We Have Band’s Darren, Thomas and Dede.

We let Darren, Thomas and Dede from We Have Band loose on the streets of London with Nokia City Lens to discover some of its hidden gems.

Nokia City Lens is an augmented reality app for Windows Phone, which gives you a wealth of information about the world around you, with photos and reviews of nearby shops, bars and restaurants, and turn-by-turn directions to get you there.

Watch the video to see which weird and wonderful places the band discovered on their adventure in London.

Cheers imcoolerthanjay for the tip!
