Nokia are official sponsors of the US Open in Colorado (for snowboarding); and alongside Burton snowboarding gear they’ve teamed up to give you fans the ultimate prize. Last year we got a little taste of Burton’s snowboarding gear with the NokiaRookieAward, but this ones for the big leagues.

For you chance to win you must submit a video, artwork, or photograph inspired by snowboarding and the culture surrounding it.

To win a Nokia Lumia 920 and a trip to the Burton US Open in Colorado, USA, all you need do is submit a short film (2 mins max), photographs or artwork inspired by the subculture and lifestyle of snowboarding, on or off the slopes.

Check out some of the entries and add your own over here:

Nokia Purity HD Wireless Up For PreOrder on Amazon For a Whopping $350

One of the cooler accessories announced alongside the Lumia 920 and 820 (in fact slightly before them at IFA) is the refreshed line of Nokia Purity Headsets. The Purity HD Wireless by Monster sheds the wires and adds bluetooth connectivity and active noise cancelling; but apparently all these cool add-ons raise the price bar as well; seeing how it’s now available on Amazon for a pricey $349

On the other hand you can snap up a pair of the original Purity HDs (which I can personally vouch for) for $160 right now:

Lumia Design Ripped Off Again; Re-Packaged With Android On Board

Once again the Lumia range has fallen victim to copycats in the mobile industry, this time it’s a bit more than simple “design inspirations” like HTC; but the whole  phone including the color. I present to you the Cloudfone Thrill 430G, this repackaged Lumia comes with Android 4.0, a 5Mp camera and a 4.3″ screen; probably not a pureview though.

I can’t seem to find where this company is based (Philippines  possibly? Since the prices are in “SRP”), regardless I actually think it’s a good sign if cheap knockoff phones think Lumias have become recognizable enough to mooch off of.

Check out the Thrill 430G in all it’s glory over here: http://www.cloudfonemobile.com/products/thrill-430gBBoO9pXCMAENIHw BBoOQlHCMAAs-05Thanks for the tip  @TerenceJohn27

Nokia Music + : enhanced €3.99 music subscription service

Screen Shot 2013-01-27 at 14.55.23In addition to the free Nokia Music service, Nokia will soon roll out Nokia Music+. This is a new €3.99  (prices vary per region) optional service that gives

  • Unlimited skips (you can only skip a few and then you have to listen to that track in the free version)
  • Unlimited downloads (you can download on the free one, but limited to 4 playlists)
  • Higher Quality
  • Lyrics
  • Desktop app.

Nokia’s VP for Entertainment said:

"This is for people who care enough about music to pay something for more quality and choice, but don't want to pay €9.99 monthly."

Dig into Spotify/XBox Music? I’d like my own playlists though.
