Rumours: Lenovo looking to buy HTC since August?

The latest rumblings on the web suggest that Lenovo, the largest PC maker, have been in discussion with HTC with the intent to buy. HTC, like Nokia is taking flack from several fronts. Their WP offerings demolished by Nokia, who themselves have been facing difficulty and their Android line devoured by Sammy.

This is merely based on meetings between HTC and Lenovo execs. Perhaps it could be something else. Perhaps not. Unlike the Nokia Devices and Services sale, Lenovo are apparently looking to keep the HTC brand for smartphones and not merely ‘dispose’ of it. Well that’s not entirely fair on the Nokia thing as it seems more from Nokia’s end that Microsoft cannot use the Nokia brand on Smartphones. Moreover, whilst HTC could be completely owned by Lenovo, Nokia remains its own entity with HERE Maps, NSN and Advanced Tech research.

Nokia Details Nokia World Abu Dhabi Event, Kicks off at 11 AM Local Time

With less than 2 weeks left till Nokia World Abu Dhabi, Nokia have just shared some more info about the event. The event kicks off at 11 AM Abu Dhabi local time (GMT + 4), and will be available to watch on a live stream on the Nokia conversations site.

 

Interestingly there seems to be a follow up event later the same day regarding whatever is going to be announced, exciting!

The press conference will start at 8am UK time (that's 11am Abu Dhabi time). And the webcast from the event will be broadcast right here on Conversations, so that you can watch the action on your screen of choice!

This time around we also have an extra treat in the form of a second round of webcasts, after the main announcement.

These are additional interactive sessions that go into much more detail about… well, whatever is announced in the morning. These sessions have historically been reserved for the press, bloggers, partners and analysts who attend Nokia World, so we're extremely pleased and excited to be able to offer them here on Conversations, for the first time.

The all-inclusive sessions will begin at 11am UK time and close at around 1pm.

LeakyLeak: Lumia 929 Leaked Again in Black? Now Called 1320?

After just very recently hearing about the Lumia 1320 from @evleaks, but it’s possible that the 1320 is the 929  rebranded according to a weibo post. The image shown above is the same as the previous 929 leaks with a different screen organization (and time).

What do you think is this the case of the 909/1020 all over again, or something else?
