Gallery: Lamborghini Aventador seen through the lens of the 808 PureView Posted: 16 Jun 2012 04:40 PM PDT Over at PureViewClub, they have taken some wonderful shots of the gorgeous Lamborghini Aventador. The photographer has used only Automatic mode to capture these. The reason I am sharing the gallery is due to Auto mode. Most non-photographer users who will have no clue about “bokeh”, ISO, white balance, etc, will more than likely just use the camera on Automatic. I think this shows the mode off well. As usual, head over to Flickr to check out the pics in full glory. |
CNET’s Nokia 808 PureView Review: “easily beats all current handsets on the market.” Posted: 16 Jun 2012 04:16 PM PDT The main CNET page (not the various local variants) have published their Nokia 808 PureView. Seems CNET got the message regarding the camera, with their headline saying:

Nokia Lumia and Nokia Play 360 on BBC Click Posted: 16 Jun 2012 04:00 PM PDT BBC Click have a feature in their shows where they demo some apps, almost always either just for iPhone, Android and on a rarity, BB. Today, they have a Nokia Lumia on show, demonstrating Nokia Music (and later on, a Metro app called Pepper that also made its way to Android and iOS – born first on WP). Not only that, the Nokia Play 360 was on the show too, though just a quick appearance for the Nokia Music app. There was appearances of Nokia in the last episode of BBC Click too because during E3, Smart Glass was demoed and the 900 was the phone part of the three screen (tablet, phone, Xbox/tv). Thanks for demoing Lumia, BBC Click. Hopefully when there are future segments showing Apps for iOS and Android, that particular developer might have given WP a go too. |
Yes, Nokia 808 PureView confirmed for USA on Monday. Posted: 16 Jun 2012 02:33 PM PDT
After the post early this morning about the Nokia 808 PureView possibly coming to the USA, it was met with excitement, doubt, and snarkiness.
Well if you want further confirmation that it IS indeed about the Nokia 808 PureView, just go and look at the Nokia USA Facebook page again. Well…what do you say now? ___ BTW, regarding PureView for Lumia as the discussion goes below, I’d happy with N8 level of optics. N8 and Xenon and Lumia and I’d be happy. It might not be PureView by N8 is still kicking everyone else’s behind, and is only number 2 after the 808. I’d like some 1080p video though. Remember, N8 was kinda PureView Lite…PureView Like. ___

‘Leaked’ XBox 720 document, Kinect 2, Fortaleza Glasses, Cloud Gaming and Unified Ecosystem. Posted: 16 Jun 2012 10:06 AM PDT What you’re looking at is the supposed new Xbox 720 document, which I came across on Reddit and TheVerge. Nokia is deeply tied to the Microsoft path so this sneak peek might alleviate or raise further concern. This details a roadmap all the way to 2015, with next generation of Xbox appearing in 2013. What’s happening on the mobile end? Well, being able to play next gen games on your Lumia. Not Xbox Live WP8 games, but actual XBox titles. Not sure how this would work given the touch controls. There’s another new peripheral – Xbox Kinect Glasses – (Different to Xbox SmartGlass). Think more on the lines of augmented reality glasses, like that Nokia concept or more recently, Google Glasses. I’d be really interested in the phones/tablets being able to play the XBOX 360 games and maybe stream the 720 games. Think Xbox phone/tablet, wireless HDMI/DLNA/HDMI TV connection, BT controllers. Not sure when this document was made but commenters have said it looks old (it may be pre-NOK-MS) and shows that certain things have started to play out, like Metro interface on the desktop and SmartGlass. What’s XTV? Interesting look at what they predict is coming. Wii2, WiiU, is it in trouble? Note, pre Win8 metro. At least to me that looks like the HP Slate. Note Nokia are not on the OEM page (nor ASUS, LG, HTC etc). Note also that this document shows Avatar as the movie entertainment choice (2009). There’s obvious improvements coming to Kinect in terms of accuracy and handling more people. From 2015 it seems it’s cloud on up. The document available here:
Well not long before we here some official news from MS regarding at least the next stage of Windows and Windows Phone. |
#N9Hacks: Post to Facebook and Twitter from StatusBar Posted: 16 Jun 2012 03:18 AM PDT MAG is at it again. In the latest addition to his hacked Status Bar, he has brought us the ability to update Facebook and Twitter, similar to what we saw with iOS6 early on in the week.
To install this, you will need to be running in Open Mode or at least have Inception installed on your device. The second requirement is that you have installed the Status Bar “unlock” hack. Facebook lets you add links in separate fields to the status itself, while Twitter is simply the update. It’s not very feature packed, but it is really simple to use, and builds upon the simplicity of the N9. Source: TMO |
