LeakyLeak: Nokia Normandy in Green, White, Yellow, Blue, Red and Black Posted: 23 Dec 2013 04:04 PM PST From @evleaks, here is a press pic of the Nokia Normandy. Nokia’s potential Android (if it isn’t cancelled) https://twitter.com/evleaks/status/415234934635126785/photo/1 |
LeakyLeak: MoneyPenny; Shows Dual Sim 3G Support and WP 8.1 Posted: 23 Dec 2013 12:06 PM PST @Evleaks is at it again, this time leaking a screenshot (or press shot) of what appears to be a Dual Sim Lumia device codenamed Moneypenny. THe device is rumored to be the Lumia 630, and one of the first Lumais to launch running WP 8.1. As you can see 8.1 does away with the need of physical buttons, in favor of on screen touch buttons (although we’re confident devices with physical buttons wills till get support). More interestingly however are the dual sim tiles, icons and notification; as you can see there are two notifications for cellular strength, as well as two phone and messaging tiles (with small numbers denominating which SIM they belong to). These dual tiles might get confusing for users, but you never know. https://twitter.com/evleaks/status/415205268218064896 Thoughts?

RAW DNG vs JPEG on Nokia Lumia 1020 Posted: 23 Dec 2013 08:47 AM PST A couple of great reads at AAWP and Pocketnow, looking into the RAW .DNG shooting capabilities of the Nokia Lumia 1020. With .dng files, you can choose how to process the pictures. e.g. Oversampling to 5mp can make the noise pretty much disappear.
Whilst the 5MP samples from the 1020 are great and even better with Lumia black, shooting RAW means the enthusiast can take the full potential from the sensor (without waiting for Nokia to solve the image processing). Cheers Alvester for the tip! |
The making of Nokia Copter – Nokia Poland #1020 Posted: 23 Dec 2013 08:17 AM PST Here’s a behind the scenes look of how Nokia Poland filmed in the skies with a Nokia Lumia 1020 on an octocopter. Great way of getting those cinematic crane-like overheads but with such a portable package.

Nokia Lumia 1520 tops GSM Arena battery life tests, “Lumia 1520 is the best performer we have seen “ Posted: 23 Dec 2013 01:54 AM PST When reviews were positive about the Nokia Lumia 1520′s battery life, I had no idea how good it actually was. GSM Arena performed some testing and found it to be the best performer. On talk time, it clocked an impressive 28h 34 minutes blasting past the competition. Overall, on their testing, they find that you can survive FOUR and a half days without charge. This is with Nokia Glance screen left on as well as double tap to wake. It’s nice to see that the huge screen is more than compensated by battery capacity (I can’t say much about WP optimisations). Source: GSMArena Cheers Ady, Nasim and Kasi for the tip! |
