9 days and 16 hours battery life remaining…

Posted: 24 Aug 2013 04:23 AM PDT

I was worried that being away from a charger for the next 24h or so, and using my phone quite heavily, I’d end up with a dead battery.

My Nokia Lumia 920, perhaps knowing this concern, seems to have gone into Super Saiyan mode, with supposedly 9 days and 16 hours of battery remaining. Erm possibly in standby with no data connection.

Smartphones are getting more powerful, and they’re expected to do more as these convergence devices continue to take over the responsibilities of dedicated counterparts. But despite efforts to make them better at conserving power, the only thing manufacturers can and are really do is stick larger and larger batteries.

It’s somewhat a normality now that smartphone users charge their phones on a daily basis. Perhaps it could last an extra half day but just to make sure, it’s topped at night.

Should it be that way? Would there ever be a time when technology can progress where we never have to charge our smartphones on a daily basis because battery life really could reach 9 days with ACTUAL use?

Nokia is said to be working on the next gen wireless charging which doesn’t need a charing accessory plugged in anywhere to charge. It’s been reported for a few years now already though we’re yet to see it. Supposedly it could at least charge your device enough, using the natural radio waves/microwaves (?) to keep your handset’s power levels on standby? I’ll leave my ramblings here as I can’t fully remember the details. Unfortunately I can’t the share a link at the moment either as I’m posting from my phone on limited connection.

Another hilarious youtube video showing the Lumia 1020 skills

So yesterday Mystery Guitar Man made a great stop motion video about the Lumia 1020 I loved it but I felt it didn’t show off what the Lumia 1020 can  actually do.

Today “wheezywaiter” a very skilled comedian as you’ll find out released a funny video called nostalgic clone.
A combination of both very good writing and acting skills (on budget) and one of the best demos of the Lumia 1020 capabilities

Its seems this  is a whole Youtube campaign At&t is supporting  and I think if the rest of the campaign videos turn out to be half decent as this video the Lumia 1020 will sell just fine.

enjoy
