Weekend Read: Andy Hagon explores the 808′s PureView goodness Posted: 17 May 2013 04:25 PM PDT Andy Hagon, a friend of mine who writes for Nokia Innovation (previously writing for Everything N9), got his hands on an 808 PureView a little while ago, and has been alternating between it and his N9 for a while. He has written up a nice post, explaining what he likes, what he doesn’t, what works well, etc. Andy is no camera aficionado, he just likes to aim and shoot, and then admire great shots later. It’s possibly the best feature of the 808PV, it can essentially turn anyone, into a decent photographer (I won’t say good, because I used one in Delhi and got a terrible image :p ). Anyway, enough of my rambling, you can read up on his post below. http://www.nokiainnovation.com/808-pureview-picture-perfection/ He has more photos on his Flickr page, that I suggest you take a look at http://www.flickr.com/photos/andyhagon/sets/72157633374808814/ |
Weekend Read: Aussie wins #NokiaxSundanceLDN by using a Lumia 920 Posted: 17 May 2013 04:00 PM PDT Nokia Australia mailed me earlier this week to inform me of some local succes. A fellow Aussie, Jason van Genderen, used his (or maybe just a) Nokia Lumia 920, to create his Sundance winning video, “Red Earth Hip Hop”.
If you’re interested in seeing the winning film, take a look below:

Visualized: Lumia 925 Camera Module Vs. 920, 800 and N97 Posted: 17 May 2013 08:46 AM PDT It’s always interesting to look at how far technology has progressed, and although with the latest Lumia 925 we can see that obviously in terms of actual performance (blowing away the S4, One and everything else). It’s also nice to see what’s inside the device (which is what counts); the picture above is a side by side of the camera module (sensor + Lens + everything else) of the following:
It’s amazing to see how small these things have gotten compared to the N97, and let’s not forgot the fact that the Lumia 925 manages to keep the same size module as the Lumia 920 even-though it has one more lens packed inside (6 lenses in the 925 vs. 5 in the 920). Pretty awesome, what do you guys think?

Posted: 17 May 2013 07:09 AM PDT There’s a growing number of services that’s allowing WP users to upload their photos directly to instagram – something some thought would never happen due to the lack of official Instagram for the platform. One of the apps that now allows you to upload pictures to Instagram is Itsdagram. It works pretty much as expected. Get a picture, add a filter, post to instagram (As well as checking out activity and other users). No need for an official app. I’ve been testing it out today and it works super quick. You might want to use a combination of other apps for other filters, or just upload unedited (I find unedited ones look the best for now). My account is @JayMontanoZ on Instagram if you want to check and follow haha. Do share your account so we can check out your pics Source: WPC In related news, WPC have also reported on more details on the merger of the Metrogram and Instagraph app.
Cheers jude for the tip
