Skydrive Storage hits 250 Million Users Posted: 06 May 2013 01:54 PM PDT
Skydrive is the default cloud storage on Windows Phone devices, and is promoted on most Lumia devices as “7Gbs free storage” (technically 7 GBs is the default storage capacity for all new SkyDrive accounts). Anyways SkyDrive storage is great, especially with the new deeper integration into windows phone 8 which backs up all your apps and settings in case you have to reset your phone, as well as the cool “Auto-upload to SkyDrive” which lets me sync my photos across all my devices. Anyways SkyDrive has hit the 250 Million users milestone and made a little infographic to celebrate. *is there an actual number on the amount of Windows Phone devices total? (I’m thinking 20-30 Million?) http://blogs.windows.com/skydrive/b/skydrive/archive/2013/05/06/over-250m-people-using-skydrive.aspx (Kind of funny that they couldn’t get the Arabic typing write, the letters aren’t connected and written backwards; just like in WP7 ) |

Authenticity Proof: Lumia 928 BillBoard Posted: 06 May 2013 10:56 AM PDT A couple days ago we posted an image of a billboard of the unreleased and unannounced Lumia 928 claiming to be the lowlight king, however some people thought the image was a fake or a photoshop. Well the guy who took the photo “AtomAstro” popped in at the comments shared an unzoomed image and explained how and were he saw this billboard (plus the photo was taken with an 808!):
So it’s safe to say this billboard is pretty real, my guess would be that Microsoft have rented out the advertising space for a period of time, then the Lumia 928 launch got delayed for some reason or the other; and MSFT forgot to tell the guys not to put up the advert, then once they saw it plastered all over the internet has an HTC ad put in its place. |
Here Drive Beta Ending Soon, Final Version to Bring Live Traffic Posted: 06 May 2013 10:26 AM PDT Pino (The Here Maps go to guy) on twitter was asked when we’ll be seeing live traffic updates in Here Drive, currently traffic is available in Here Maps, but not while in Drive mode (was honestly surprised by this, but then again in Jordan it’s not available in any mode ). Pino’s response was that Traffic view will be incorporated into here drive as soon as it exists the beta phase, which should be soon.
Once the here maps suite exists beta users should have the ability to upgrade from here Drive to Here Drive + (giving them full global navigation). Thanks for the tip derrekleigh |
Hulu Plus Finally Comes to Windows Phone (8 Only) Posted: 06 May 2013 10:18 AM PDT As promised by the Hulu team, their app for WP8 has arrived. Hulu is one of the more popular online content providers, similar to netflix but for shows only? (Am I getting that right?). The Hulu Plus app, a subscription based version of Hulu for $8 a month app has finally hit windows phone 8; shortening that list of must have apps by one. You can download the app over here (free of course): http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/hulu-plus/35eeb915-64d1-44a4-ae34-242fb2e19c1e

Nokia to submit GDR2 WP8 Update into carrier testing Mid-May? Posted: 06 May 2013 01:30 AM PDT
Telstra customer support have indicated that Nokia intends to submit their GDR2 WP8 update around Mid-May. GDR2 is expected to bring things like
Tesltra support mentions several updates in testing, one of which 1308 being retracted by Nokia in March but 1314 testing is almost complete with approval due ‘today’ (Guessing the post was Monday morning). Should we expect a notification area any time soon or, perhaps would we need to wait for GDR3? Source: Telstra Via: WMPU Cheers Derrek for the tip |
