Samsung Galaxy Note II Predicted to Make Waves, In Spite of iPhone 5 Huge Sales Posted: 27 Sep 2012 01:47 PM PDT Samsung has huge expectations from the Galaxy Note II, that’s starting to debut internationally in regions where the phablet hadn’t arrived yet. Samsung expects a stronger debut for its new phablet, compared to the first Galaxy Note, that was actually an experimental product, a risk taken by Samsung, a risk that generated the phablet segment. It’s interesting that Samsung has these expectations in the midst of the iPhone 5 craze, so they’re even more optimistic if we take into account the millions of iPhone 5 being sold these days. Predictions say that Note II may sell 3 times faster than Note 1, as more carriers are part of the initial offering. The info comes from J.K. Shin, head of the Samsung mobile business and he detailed that in Seoul, during a briefing. The device goes on sale in 128 markets on 260 operators, starting with South Korea this week. Samsung is the world’s largest mobile phone seller and it already has a huge variety of Galaxy devices with Android on board. The pen packing Note II is one of the most desired and appreciated devices out there, in spite of its pretty big diagonal, at 5.5 inches, even bigger than its predecessor’s. We’ve got a quad core Exynos CPU on this device, 2 GB of RAM and some fresh S Pen applications to play with. Galaxy Note II was unveiled at IFA 2012 a month ago and now it’s ready to hit the shops. Will you buy one? Related posts: |
Boost Mobile Announces LG Venice, 4.3 Inch Android 4.0 Smartphone, Priced at $219.99 Posted: 27 Sep 2012 11:59 AM PDT Boost Mobile just announced a new handset with Android 4.0, decent specs and decent price, the LG Venice. We’re dealing with an Ice Cream Sandwich handset, with a 4.3 inch display, 1 GHz processor and the latest UI from LG, possibly LG Optimus UI 3.0, although the seller doesn’t specify that. US Cellular also has the Venice on offer but under the name LG Splendor. Venice comes with a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture, a VGA front camera, LG’s QuickMemo app, WiFi, GPS and stereo Bluetooth. There’s also Corning Gorilla Glass protection for the screen and LG Venice is expected to come both online and in stores starting October 10th. ITs price tag is $219.99 without contract and other retailers will soon get the handset as well. The phone has 2 GB of internal memory, supports a 800 x 480 pixel resolution and has a standard 1700 mAh battery, offering up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 10 days of standby time. Huawei Ascend P1 LTE Officially Announced, Specs Here! Posted: 27 Sep 2012 12:55 AM PDT Huawei Ascend P1 has barely hit the market and there’s already an upgraded follow-up out there, the Ascend P1 LTE, that was just unveiled. The handset will be coming exclusively to the UK via the EE carrier and other operators are expected to get the product as well. Ascend P1 LTE offers a 2000 mAh battery and a dual core 1.5 GHz processor, plus 1 GB of RAM. It also has an 8 megapixel camera, a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection. Huawei Ascend P1 LTE is promoted as the device compatible with the highest number of frequency bands and it’s being tested on networks all over Europe, Latin America, North America, Asia Pacific and more. The device is able to reach data transmission rates of up to 100 Mbit/s, that surpasses HSDPA level. Its specs list also includes 4 GB of ROM and the screen is of the Super AMOLED kind. I can’t say much has changed about the specs of this model, compared to the Huawei Ascend P1 and I can’t understand why they’re launching an upgrade so soon. Anyway, LG is doing the same thing with the LG Optimus Vu 2, launching weeks after the Optimus Vu 1, so why bother criticizing them? It’s their market… Related posts: |
