Huawei Ascend W1 Reveals Itself on Video – To Cost $200 Posted: 23 Nov 2012 10:10 AM PST Huawei is going to release their own Windows Phone running device, while keeping the costs for it at a very affordable level, as we are used with the manufacturer about now. The device as posed in front of the camera for a few times now but never has it been seen on video. Fortunately for us, we are able to enjoy a first look with the upcoming handset. Techblog.gr has managed to get their hand on the device and post a video showing it in all its glory. Huawei Ascend W1 feaures a dual-core Snapdaragon S4 hardware configuration and is running the latest iteration of the OS from Microsoft – Windows Phone. While expecting the handset to be available for just $200, we can’t overlook the rather dissapointing 480 x 800 pixels resolution, for the 4.0 inches display. It is apparently the only major downside of the smartphone. Other then the above mentioned, the Ascend W1 includes a 5 MP rear camera, 4 GB of internal memory and 512 MB RAM with the Adreno 225 GPU. There are the usual connectivity features, including WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. The device is expected to be unveiled by the end of the year.

Rumors: Samsung Galaxy S4 Features 1080p Super AMOLED Screen, Galaxy S II Plus Coming Next Month Posted: 23 Nov 2012 07:14 AM PST There are two interesting Samsung-related rumors going around the interwebs these days. One of them involves the Samsung Galaxy S4 and its specs and other a brand new version of the Galaxy S II, with improvements and the branding Galaxy S II Plus. Galaxy S4 is expected to be unveiled next year, with a 13 megapixel camera on board, a new quad core Exynos Adonis processor built using 28 nm technology and a 4.99 inch Super AMOLED display. The screen is said to support a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, putting it on the same level as the HTC Droid DNA. The display may make an appearance at CES 2013 in Las Vegas, but I can’t tell if the device will. As far as the other rumor goes, the Galaxy S II Plus is expected to be released, or at least announced before the year is out. It will come with 4.5 inch 720p screen and an 8 megapixel camera. It’s also supposed to have a dual core processor and we hope that the usual 16 GB of storage and microSD card slot are intact. Maybe throw some LTE in the mix, just for fun. Anyone excited for the Galaxy S4 yet? Related posts: |
Photos Showing the International Version of the HTC Droid DNA – HTC DLX – Surface Posted: 23 Nov 2012 04:57 AM PST The HTC Droid DNA is a first on many chapters. It is the best device available on Verizon's list and is also the most powerful smartphone is has ever had. It is also the most powerful HTC device yet and the first smartphone to feature a full HD – 1080p display at no less then 440 ppi at its 5-inch in size. The device packs quite a punch with its Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, the same found in the Nexus 4 from LG and Google. The International version of the HTC Droid DNA has been highly anticipated. With it’s 5-inch Super LCD3 full HD display, it is a great device multimedia and gaming, coupled with Beats Audio technology and separate amps for speakers and headphones. According to recent rumors, the International variant for the HTC flagship device is called the HTC Deluxe DLX. It is expected that the manufacturer will unveil the device very soon, either at CES or MWC 2013. Until it actually does get announced, you can enjoy a couple of shots, showing the HTC DLX in all its glory. As expected, it has a similar design to the Verizon handset and the new Windows 8 devices, featuring the “pyramid” method for stacking components to result in a very clean design. Related posts: |
Samsung Stratosphere II Up for Sale in USA, Starting at $129.99 Posted: 23 Nov 2012 02:59 AM PST Samsung Stratosphere II has just started being sold in the US without too much promotion or media coverage. The handset is actually interesting because it has 4G LTE, midrange specs and a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a combo you don’t meet that often nowadays. Anyhow, we’re dealing here with a 4 inch device, with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and a Super AMOLED display on board. There’s also a 1.2 GHz processor on board, 8 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 5 megapixel rear camera with 720p video capture and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. There’s also LTE connectivity, a 1800 mAh battery and a 5 line sliding QWERTY keyboard. The device runs Android 4.0 ICS with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and the most important aspect here, the price seems to be $129.99 on a 2 year contract. You can also get it free of contract for $449.99, which is pretty cool actually. The most promising aspect about this handset, if you ask me is the batter and seeing how it’s only 200 mAh away from the battery of monster HTC Droid DNA, it’s very solid. No related posts. |
Vivo X1 is the World’s Thinnest Smartphone Now, Available Already in China for $400 Posted: 23 Nov 2012 01:57 AM PST Oppo Finder, a Fujitsu Arrows model and the Huawei Ascend P1S were this year’s contenders to the title of thinnest handset model. Well, since “there can be only one”, that one is a newcomer, the Vivo X1, that you can see pictured below. This newcomer is one tenth of a millimeter thinner than its rival, so it reaches 6.55 mm in thickness. The title of “world’s thinnest smartphone” belonged to the Oppo Finder for 5 months or so and now let’s see just long Vivo X1 will keep its crown. The handset doesn’t look bad at all and it comes with a 4.7 inch 540 x 960 screen, with an IPS panel, a dual core Cortex A9 1.2 GHz chipset, an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front shooter. It can be ordered straight from Vivo’s webstore. The handset also brings 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and apparently no microSD card slot. It also has 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 2000 mAh battery, plus it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Its price tag is pretty affordable, at $400, but then again, its resolution is so 2011… Related posts: |
