Lumia 920 launches Nov 29 in Australia; Pre-Order for Free JBL Posted: 12 Nov 2012 09:06 PM PST Sorry about the long title, just wanted to get the key info there, instead of having to do a few posts for the same stuff. First up, we finally have a confirmed release date for the Lumia 920 in Australia. Telstra, the exclusive carrier for the Lumia 920 here in Oz, issued a press statement earlier today announcing it will be here on November 29, with pre-order open as of today. If you have waited this long, lets face it, another two weeks is nothing. Secondly, on the topic of pre-order, Telstra are giving you a FREE JBL Play Up speaker, if you commit to one of their “Every Day Connect” plans, and pre-order prior to the 20th (although the email I got said 26th). Lastly, if you’re not one for contracts, you can purchase the Lumia 920 for AUD$696. Sadly, no free speaker. Who knows though, maybe the Free Nokia Charger promo may apply to you. Source: Telstra |
Video: Meet Jessica. See her Kid’s Corner on her Windows Phone Posted: 12 Nov 2012 01:47 PM PST Here’s a promo for the Nokia Lumia 920 featuring Jessica Alba.
There’s also one of the lovely Gwen Stefani, unfortunately on a KIRF machine.
Based on the original ‘meet Steve’. Urg. What a stale choice. Why you no choose Nokia? Fail Ballmer fail.

Lumia 920 PreOrders Sold Out in UAE & China Amazon Posted: 12 Nov 2012 09:06 AM PST Carrying on with the pleasant stream of news it would seem that Amazon China sold out of Lumia 920T Pre-Orders only 30 minutes after going live with the listing at a pretty decent price of 3599 Yaun/$578. Along with the stream of out of stock news Nokia UAE have announced on twitter that they have completely sold out of Lumia 920 Pre-Orders! (which btw launches in UAE tonight).

Microsoft Store Sold Out of Lumia 920! Posted: 12 Nov 2012 08:56 AM PST Ben The PC Guy tweeted the above picture from the Bellevue Microsoft Store, which as you can quite clearly see have sold out of the Lumia 920 (as well as the HTC 8X :/ ). As awesome as “out of Stock” sounds when it comes to sales, it means practically nothing when we don’t know what the initial stock quantity is, but still at least we know that someone has bought them. |
Posted: 12 Nov 2012 08:29 AM PST Earlier today we posted a link to the Lumia 820 review by PocketLint; who claimed that it IS the phone to get if you’re looking for a WP device. They point out that as far as the camera goes its no slouch; but nothing mind-blowing either, check out their sample image:

Video: Discovering London with the Nokia Lumia 820: City Lens Posted: 11 Nov 2012 10:48 PM PST Here’s the second video on the series of discovering with City Lens, this time with the 820. My thoughts are exactly the same as the previous video. If you weren’t a Nokia fan, but a regular joe and not Detective Holmes who could NOT pause the video, would you know what the heck was going on in this video?

Pocket-Lint: Nokia Lumia 820 Review – “This IS the phone you are looking for”. Posted: 11 Nov 2012 10:43 PM PST
So we’ve seen a whole wave of Nokia Lumia 920 reviews, now it’s the turn of the Nokia Lumia 820. This one comes in from Pocket-Lint. They previously demolished the 920, despite all the innovations, because it weighed 185g (despite other phones in that weight being very popular in the UK). So how will the 820 fair? Well, this is the Windows Phone they’re recommending. Not the 920 or some other device. But this one.
Interesting snippet regarding the camera:
Well, the only camera that can compete in that regard is the 808, no .
Pocket-lint sees the 820 as the phone that has the features people want. Removable battery, micro-SD and an OS that stands out.
Cheers EK for the tip! |
