Fresh iPhone 5 Concept Renders Show Us a Realistic Look of Next Gen Apple Phone (Video)

Posted: 08 Jun 2012 05:50 AM PDT

With all the recent leaks of iPhone 5 parts, cases and whatnot, it was only a matter of time till some skilled team of designers gathered them all and created a mockup. This has been done a lot over the past year and now here comes another attempt, from Bryce Haymond of Blackpool Creative.

He not only has 76 renderings of the handset available HERE for download, but also the video below, showcasing the 4 inch iPhone. He based his idea on this week’s leaks coming from Asia, showing an iPhone 5 with the same width as the iPhone 4S, but also with a longer profile. With WWDC 2012 starting on Monday, people are still expecting a surprise launch of the new iPhone, so that’s where all the hype is coming from. The consensus concerning the new iPhone is that it will have a 4 inch display, a longer body, the same width as the predecessor, bigger speakers, moved audio jack and smaller dock connector.

The FaceTime came is also moved around and due to the new screen and resolution the user will gain an extra row of icons. There’s also a separated color segment at the central back  area compared to the upper camera side, that goes with a shade of gray instead of black, for example. Will the real thing look anything like this?

Apple Trying to Lure Samsung Into Galaxy S III Patent Beef

Posted: 08 Jun 2012 03:06 AM PDT

Apple may have just found a way to attack the Samsung Galaxy S III and bring it to court, in order to stop it from successfully launching in the US. The device is supposed to reach the stores by June 21st and now Apple is trying to get a court ban for alleged patent violations.

After checking out the international Galaxy S III and analyzing it in detail, Apple found that it violates certain patents. Previously the Cupertino giant accused Sammy of infringing on patents such as the slide to unlock function, auto fill options on a typing interface and a unified search interface. Now the creator of the iPhone found that the S III breaches two of these patents. One of them is the S Voice intelligent assistant, that violates the unified search interface patent supposedly.

Apple is also saying that the Galaxy S III allows users to start a call from a phone number that appears on a webpage or in a text just by tapping it, which is a violation of a patent. This exact same technology was the reason why the HTC One X and other HTC models had to be held in customs for a while. Samsung pulled a smart move by saying that if there’s any complaint regarding their new model, Apple needs to file a separate motion and not just add it to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 motion.

The motion will take a while, so they have some time on their hands to prepare and… sell units.

T-Mobile Will Offer WWDC 2012 Attendees “4G” Connectivity, Even on iPhones

Posted: 08 Jun 2012 01:24 AM PDT

A T-Mobile representative gave WWDC 2012 brilliant news ahead of the Monday start of the event: they will be offering a flavour of “4G”, which is in fact HSPA+ compatible with iPhones. The carrier will upgrade coverage inside the West side of the Moscone Center and deployed 4G HSPA+ service in the 1900 MHz band.

They want to test the liver network on a smaller scale, ahead of a bigger rollout. Previously T-Mobile announced a network revamp that will cost them $4 billion and this is merely a test run for that. I can’t really tell why they’re adapting 4G to the iPhone, instead of launching a 4G iPhone… and considering that will most likely happen before the year end, won’t T-Mobile feel sorry for rushing to adapt its services when the new iPhone was ready to adapt to their offer?

Those who use unlocked devices will take the opportunity at WWDC to try out T-Mobile’s $30 unlimited data prepaid plans and considering people will be live blogging and doing all sorts of tests, it could end up being a nice experience. European who own a T-Mobile iOS device will be glad to know that similar services are coming their way.
