LG Optimus G Now Officially Confirmed, Adopts In Cell Touch Technology

Posted: 28 Aug 2012 03:08 AM PDT

The famous LG Optimus G, that quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro handset that everyone was talking last week has just changed its status from rumor to certainty, since it was confirmed officially by LG this week. We’re dealing with a smartphone based on a 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 CPU, the future hit when it comes to tearing down benchmarks.

This device also has LTE connectivity and in cell touch technology, something that Apple was supposed to be working on for the iPhone 5. The technology integrates the touch sensor into the glass of the display, in order to reduce the thickness of the handset. The LG Optimus G will give the likes of the Galaxy S III a run for the money and its specs are truly fascinating, including a True HD IPS+ LCD 1280 x 768 pixel display, with a 4.7 inch diagonal and a very thin bezel, close to the level of edge to edge.

At the back there’s a 13 megapixel camera, a 1.3 MP shooter upfront and inside 2 GB of RAM. Honestly, what more do you need on a smartphone? LG Optimus G is supposed to debut on NTT DoCoMo in Japan as the L-01E in November or October and a Korean release will happen next week. There’s also a 2100 mAh battery inside and don’t be surprised if you see this model showcased tomorrow at IFA 2012.

Nokia Design Patent Reveals Potential Lumia Windows Phone 8 Device; Could it be The Phi, Arrow or Atlas?

Posted: 28 Aug 2012 02:59 AM PDT

We’re only a week away from the big unveiling of the first Windows Phone 8 Nokia Lumia handsets and leaks continue to appear every day. Last week we saw some front panels of upcoming devices and now we also get some design patents that could fit those leaks. What you see here is a probable Lumia WP8 device, that could be the Nokia Arrow or Atlas, according to rumors.

It could also be the rumored Nokia Phi or some other model. To me, the design in the sketch is similar to the one of the Nokia Lumia 710, so it leads me to believe that this in fact a midrange cheaper model, rather than a bigshot high end powerhouse of a smartphone. The design is also supposed to reveal that we’re dealing with a 4.3 inch smartphone and according to recent leaks, Nokia Arrow and Atlas are indeed expected to be midrange devices, so it fits the bill.

Considering Nokia and Microsoft like numbers so much, is there any chance this is a Nokia Lumia 720 or something like that? Maybe a Lumia 810 or 820? What’s certain is that it will run Windows Phone 8, possibly sport 512 MB of RAM or even 1 GB and pack a single or dual core CPU.

HTC Proto Real Identity Revealed: HTC Desire X, a Dual Core Midrange Phone

Posted: 28 Aug 2012 02:07 AM PDT

HTC Proto is a quite recent leak, being spotted on the web a bunch of times, with its cool elongated, metallic ring around the camera. Now the device is uncovered again, this time with a full branding and specs. It will be called the HTC Desire X and fit right between the HTC One V and One S in the 2012 HTC lineup.

A quick glance at the design reveals a “baby” version of the One X with a polycarbonate non removable back cover, available in navy blue or white. According to the leaked documents this model runs Android 4.0.4 with HTC Sense 4.1 and features a 4 inch Super LCD screen with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, a dual core 1 GHz processor and 768 MB of RAM, as well as 4 GB of ROM. It also brings 25 GB of Dropbox storage and a 1650 mAh battery. The device measures 9.3 mm and weighs 120 grams, although another source said 114 grams.

It will get Beats Audio technology and a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, BSI sensor and HTC ImageChip technology. If they price this right, this model could be a hit and when I say right I mean somewhere around $300 or so, maybe even less free of contract. IFA 2012 will probably bring an official unveiling of the HTC Desire X.

Motorola RAZR M 4G LTE Gets Pictured and Specced; Like a Droid RAZR With Better CPU & Front Camera

Posted: 28 Aug 2012 01:55 AM PDT

While the rest of the world was busy with rumors about the Motorola Droid RAZR HD, Moto was preparing yet another new phone, the RAZR M 4G LTE. Soon there will be so many RAZRs, that you’ll feel like the Samsung fans do about the many Galaxy models. Anyway, this newcomer is a LTE device, headed to Verizon, as you might have already guessed.

It will feature a 4.3 inch qHD display with Super AMOLED Advanced technology and probably the same ColorBoost panel of the Sprint Photon Q handset. It will also have a dual core Snapdragon S4 processor, a very popular choice for a CPU nowadays. To that we add 1 GB of RAM, 8 megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capture and a 3 megapixel front shooter. There’s also Full GSM and HSPA+ global roaming capability and 8 GB of internal storage, as well as microSD support.

RAZR M will support NFC, Android 4.0 with a virtual row of navigation keys and it will weigh 4.44 ounces. The screen on board is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 technology, while the back offers the same kevlar layer of the Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX. In other news, know that Motorola has an event scheduled for September 5th, where it may unveil this model and the RAZR HD.
