Amazon Mis-labels PowerUp Speakers, Prices at $150

Posted: 25 Nov 2012 10:07 AM PST

The reason I’m posting this is because a lot of people have either dropped this link in the comments or mailed me, tweeted me or otherwise tried to get in touch to tell me how awesome of a deal this is. In the listing seen above Amazon show the JBL PowerUp Wireless speakers in blue and list them for $149.00 which is an absolute steal compared to the $249 in store prices. However note that they’re listed as the 51W which is in fact the JBL PlayUp, which under another listing are also $149, so it’s safe to assume it was a mixup in the post; the JBL PowerUp are available in another listing for the usual $299, but it is unclear if Amazon will man up to the mistake and honor the pricing/listing, if so some people are in for a nice surprise.

Incorrect listing: Nokia MD-51W JBL PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for Nokia – Retail Packaging – Cyan

JBL PlayUp for $149 Nokia MD-51W JBL PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for Nokia – Retail Packaging – Yellow

JBL PowerUp for $299 Nokia MD-100W JBL PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for Nokia – Retail Packaging – Cyan

Edit: I just noticed that both the PlayUp & the PowerUp (correct and incorrect listings) are all temporarily out of stock, more good news?

Weekend Watch: Fishing with Nokia Lumia 920 ( 720p OIS sample)

Posted: 25 Nov 2012 05:42 AM PST

More aquatic fun with the Nokia Lumia 920, this time on a boat, catching some fish.

It’s quite an interesting video. When they put back the fish and it’s flopped on its back, I thought it was dead. But they calmly mentioned it was just in shock and needed to be put upright, and off the fish swam.

I’m guessing this is all handheld, no tripod.

Weekend Watch: Nokia Lumia 510 review

Posted: 25 Nov 2012 03:56 AM PST

Here’s a video review of the Nokia Lumia 510 (with WP7.5) which looks to be getting WP7.8 in the future.

Priced at about 10.5K INR, it’s said to be an exceptionally well built full fledged smartphone with absolutely brilliant touch responsiveness. In comparison the the Xperia mentioned, the screen is bigger, more pixels, higher density and the Lumia is cheaper.
