iPhone 5 Announced on September 12th, During Apple Media Event, Could be Launched on the 21st Posted: 31 Jul 2012 03:55 AM PDT Several sources are indicating that Apple has a big media event scheduled for September 12th and it appears that on this occasion we’ll get to see the new iPhone in action. The iPhone 5 has been long in the wait till now and the same sources say that we’ll also see it in shops 9 days later, on September 21st. This means that the new handset arrives a full month earlier than expected, since it was likely that Apple could keep the October time frame of 2011. The folks of iMore, TheLoop and AllThingsD all confirm this launch date and all of them quote their sources. The new iPhone has been in the news a lot lately, with an assembled unit appearing online with pictures, after its components have leaked for the past 2 months. While we know nothing certain about this device, it’s becoming more and more clear that it will have a bigger display, LTE and some design changes. With Samsung Galaxy S III selling so well and having passed the 10 million units mark, Apple may want to speed up the iPhone 5 launch, although they did have a good enough Q3 to not fear Samsung… yet. If all the rumors are confirmed, this will be the biggest design change of the iPhone since day 1 of its debut in 2007. So, will you be saving up for the new handset or simply wait for the next Google Nexus phone maybe? Related posts: |
