iPhone 5 Dock Connectors and iPad Mini Connectors Pictures Leaked Posted: 18 Aug 2012 07:08 AM PDT If you want to see yet another round of iPhone 5/iPad Mini leaked components, you’ll be thrilled to know that they have leaked yet again and this time we’re talking about iPad Mini/ iPhone 5 dock connectors. It’s been rumored for a while now that Apple will give up the 30 pin setup and those large connectors in favour of smaller ones. After all, their rivals have been using the microUSB standard for a while now and they look strangely outdated at this point. So, with the 30 pin socket dead, what now? Rumors said that we should expect a 19 pin dock, but is that so? Let’s see what this leak is about. Recently a 9 pin reference was found in iOS 6 beta code and seemed to indicate the novelty of the next gen iPhone. Now, thanks to the close ups, the code reference is actually confirmed. As shown here, the 8 gold pins are all lined up like soldiers and the metal base is supposed to host the ninth pin. We have seen a lot of leaks related to the iPhone 5, including the battery, front frame, back battery cover, Home button, the whole case and many other parts. The iPad Mini has also started surfacing pretty often. Excited yet? Also, what do you think about Apple’s switch to a new connector? Is it good or bad? No related posts. |
Motorola Preparing Event for September 5th, Overshadowed by Microsoft + Nokia event Posted: 18 Aug 2012 02:01 AM PDT September will be a very interesting month, with an Apple event supposedly scheduled on the 12th and a Microsoft + Nokia event on the 5th. Now there’s another interesting event also on the 5th, this time one that Motorola is part of and they already sent out invites setting the theme of the gathering as “HD device launch”. It’s probably time for the official debut of the Motorola Droid RAZR HD, that has been leaked too many times already. With the invite card saying “Motorola. On Display”, it’s clear that we’ll get a showcasing and that will take place in New York. The event will be held in cooperation with Verizon, so the carrier will most likely sell the Droid RAZR HD in the future. Usually such events unveil either a set of devices or maybe a single flagship, but considering the recent leak of a Droid RAZR Mini, I can’t really say if it’s one or two new models. It’s interesting that Verizon is participating, since they’ll have their hands full with the new iPhone in the following two months, so will they find room for one more flagship, such as the Droid RAZR HD? Especially considering both the new Moto phone and the Apple iPhone 5 are supposedly LTE handsets. Related posts: |
Lenovo Announces K860 5 Inch Quad Core Smartphone Posted: 18 Aug 2012 01:26 AM PDT Yet another phablet to brighten the day! Lenovo has just announced its very own 5 inch phablet for China, the K860 5 inch unit, with quad core CPU. Lenovo LePhone K860 is also called the Lenovo Music phone and it features Samsung’s 1.4 GHz quad core Exynos processor, that was also borrowed by the latest Meizu phone, if I’m not mistaking. Specs also include 1 GB of RAM, a 2,250 mAh battery and an 8 megapixel camera capable of 100 continuous shots. The OS on board here is Android 4.0 ICS and since I mentioned the processor above, I must say it’s the same one used on the Galaxy S III, so it’s a big deal. Although the device is not as big as the Galaxy Note, it gets a 5 inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and also we have here a front 2 megapixel camera. All of that is fit into a 9.6mm thick chassis and strangely there’s no mention of a stylus, although it would have been cool to get one. No idea what the pricing of this model will be and if it will manage to reach the shops before the Galaxy Note 2, but I’m sure it will be cheaper than the new Samsung phablet. Related posts: |
