HTC One XL and One S Preparing for Jelly Bean Updates Posted: 19 Jul 2012 06:20 AM PDT Australian carrier Telstra has just let slip details about the upcoming Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for handsets such as the HTC One XL and One S models. Both appear with the “preparing for Jelly Bean” status on this carrier’s status list, but no exact date has been provided just yet. Seeing that jump from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean isn’t that big, like the one from Gingerbread to ICS for example, it should happen faster. Also this week ASUS announced the tablets that it will be putting out updates for, well basically all their famous Android tablets. Now HTC appears in the equation with Jelly Bean ready for update and Motorola and Samsung must also be preparing something. I wouldn’t bet on Samsung, though, since they have a hard time even updating their tablets from last year to Android 4.0. Just so you know, HTC One XL is the Australian version of the HTC One X in this case, with the Telstra update. If I were to make predictions, I’d say that by September we’ll all be rocking Jelly Bean on the top notch HTC handsets. Related posts: |
ZTE Announces Grand X Smartphone, With Android 4.0, Tegra 2 Posted: 19 Jul 2012 12:09 AM PDT ZTE just introduced a new Tegra 2-based smartphone called Grand X, that you can see pictured below. This dual core model was announced for the UK market and it comes with Android 4.0 ICS. Without contract it will be offered in Great Britain for as low as 190 pounds, which is pretty reasonable. ZTE Grand X comes with HSDPA 21 Mbps connectivity, a 9.9mm thick chassis and a 1 GHz dual core CPU of the Tegra 2 kind. The device weighs 110 grams and features a 4.3 inch qHD display. There’s also a 5 megapixel camera on board with autofocus and a front VGA camera. Other features include 4GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi and DLNA. There’s also a Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery on board, as well as Dolby Mobile Sound/HD Voice. Other things to look out for on this device are the Documents to Go, Evernote and Tegra Zone apps, all bundled with the handset. It’s interesting that the Grand X actually has 4 capacitive buttons, unlike the usual 3 buttons that are used by Android 4.0 devices nowadays. Related posts: |
