Video: Nokia Counter & Contact Share Demoed on Lumia 900 Posted: 30 Jul 2012 01:08 PM PDT Now that Nokia have pushed out all the official apps promised at the developers summit last month (Camera extras, Contact share, Counters, Play To); here’s a video demoing the latest of these releases (Contact share & Counter): Unfortunately Contact share doesn’t support sending the Vcard over Bluetooth as of yet, hopefully that’ll come soon; and since the counter is still in the beta phase there are some features missing, officially they are:
anyways here’re the respective QR codes, get downloading. *Note: It would appear that Tango (for the Lumia 800 & 710) as well as the post-Tango (for the 900 & 610- the update that brought “Flip-to-silence) are required for these apps to run. Counter: Contact Transfer:

Lumiappaday #258: Fishing Girl demoed on the Nokia Lumia 900 Posted: 30 Jul 2012 12:41 PM PDT Fishing Girl is a game where you partake in some relaxing fishing. I didn’t realise that’s what it was for until I read the blurb. There’s no goals as such other than completing some of the bonus requests and upgrading your line/lures. There’s minor skill involved in casting out your line, getting the right catch and then reeling in the line at the right speed so it doesn’t break. Nice free app. #258) Fishing Girl

Nokia Counters App for WP Available at Beta Labs Posted: 30 Jul 2012 10:55 AM PDT The final app from those promised by Nokia at the WP summit has just been released at the beta labs, Counters app tracks your Data, Messaging and phone consumption and alerts you once you’ve gone over the limit. As the app is still a beta it doesn’t support fractional data limits (1.5 GB) or pinning a specific counter the start screen; none the less it’s a pretty useful app so go get it guys.

Video: 18 Minute video review of Nokia Asha 306 Posted: 30 Jul 2012 01:36 AM PDT Someone who calls themselves ‘Dr Technology’ has published their video review of the Nokia Asha 306 (Full Touch S40) on YouTube. We’ve shown you their unboxing some time ago so it’ll be interesting to see how they found using the 306. Note, Asha full touch S40 is an even nicer experience on the capacitive screened 311. This helps the feel of being responsive. Swipes should be feather light and resistive screens make this difficult. by DrTech0logy |
Video: Screenshots demo on WP8 Posted: 30 Jul 2012 12:38 AM PDT A couple of weeks back we heard that WP8 would have screenshot capability. This is neither something new or innovative, but since it’s been highly requested, it was worth sharing this information to those who care about such features. If you don’t, well let’s press that back button . Below you can see this implementation in WP8. I do like that there’s a separate albums folder for screenshots instead of them getting bundled in with images you’ve downloaded or taken with the camera. The video shows a WP8 emulator. To take a screenshot, press the windows+camera key. It’s nice that this is built-in vs standalone app. It would have been nice if we could have at least got screenshot functionality from an app like Symbian in WP7 as opposed to having to go through the complicated Dev-Unlock route. by WP7App |
