HTC Mystery 1080p Display Device Leaked, Complete With New Snapdragon S4 CPU

Posted: 13 Jul 2012 12:43 PM PDT

Behind the scenes HTC is preparing a big takeover of the market with some very cool devices. Previously they had a phablet and tablet rumored and now here’s a fresh player, apparently a 1080p display phone with a new Snapdragon S4 processor.

This new device will be available on Verizon and it’s codenamed DLX for now. It appeared in the famous GLBenchmark benchmarking site and its specs are truly crazy. The model number is HTC6435, making us think of the Rezound, that had the codename HTC6425. The newcomer’s CPU is clocked at 1.5 GHz and people in the know are saying that this isn’t the standard S4 Snapdragon, instead it’s a new generation, judging by the benchmark scores. It reaches quite a bit above 100 on the Egypt Offscreen test (121.1 fps) and Pro (110.5 fps), both 720p tests.

That’s a feat that no other phone has achieved so far. For example HTC One X only reached 64.8 fps and 94.8 fps and that was a potent phone and still is. To reach such scores, one would need the likes of the MSM8960T chipset and the Adreno 320GPU. The other crazy thing about this device is the 1794 x 1080 pixel resolution , so it’s probably an unit with a bigger display, like a phablet. So, are you ready for this model?

iPhone 5 Fresh Images Leak, Detailed View of the Handset’s Design

Posted: 13 Jul 2012 01:14 AM PDT

After seeing a metallic prototype of the iPhone 5, now we get a full view of the entire device in all its splendor, courtesy of a leak from hardware news site Kitguru.net. They posted a detailed gallery of images, that are believed to be the iPhone 5 in the wild.

Well, let’s not get so excited here, since this looks more like a rough unit made by someone that’s not Apple, but rather a fan who used all of the pics and info on the web as inspiration. It could be a company trying to make their cases and accessories early, trying to stay ahead in the game. However, the design fits with everything that we’ve been hearing about the new iPhone: thinner and longer than the iPhone 4S, plus it has the audio jack at the bottom, bigger speakers with speaker grilles and that smaller 19 pin connector dock.

For comparison sake, the iPhone 5 is placed next to the 4S in the images included in this article. I doubt this is Foxconn material, since it has sloppy finishing and parts of resemble something made out of a spray paint modeling clay. Anyway, this mockup gives you a rough idea of what you may be buying this Christmas. The question is: will you?

Posted: 13 Jul 2012 12:50 AM PDT

AT&T users have an exclusive color version for their devices: Garnet Red. That flavour will now be applied to the Samsung Galaxy S III, available globally in Pebble Blue and Marble White. So, if you want a red version of the S III, AT&T is the way to go, starting from July 15th.

Retail stores will offer the handset for purchase starting July 29th. We remind you that this is a 4.8 inch smartphone with HD display, 8 megapixel camera with 1080p capture, Android 4.0 ICS, 1GB of RAM and dual core Snapdragon S4 processor. In many international versions, the S III comes with a quad core Exynos processor, made by Samsung. Other reasons to get the device are the unique features S Voice (virtual assistant), S Beam (ultra fast connectivity), pop up play and the complex gesture control available.

There’s also a 2100 mAh battery under the hood, good enough for about 2 days of use. So, are you more of a Pebble Blue kind of guy, do you fancy Marble White or the fresh Garnet Red? How long till the Samsung Galaxy S III is also available in pink?

Motorola XT907 Verizon Version Surfaces; Low Priced RAZR Coming!

Posted: 13 Jul 2012 12:06 AM PDT

After the pics of a supposed RAZR HD popped on the web early this month, now we have fresh images of a new Motorola XT907 handset. This one is destined for Verizon and it’s a budget-friendly RAZR version, apparently. The details are pretty light at the moment, so there’s no reason to get overly excited.

The Verizon Wireless product looks pretty similar to the recently announced Motorola Atrix HD for AT&T, so it may be related to that one. The mystery device has that trademark Kevlar coating at the back, just like previous RAZR devices and features an HD video capable camera, just like many other Motorola units. The device supports Verizon’s LTE service and while the RAZR HD has the model number XT926, this is not it, but rather a little brother. We’re dealing with a 4.3 inch smartphone here, but the resolution is unknown at the time.

Other sources say that the device could come in white and support a qHD resolution, while also using the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, so very popular these days. So, is a budget friendly Droid the way to draw the US public to your side this summer? Verizon seems to think so…
