Meego Re-Incarnated as JollaMobile

Quick post before I get back to my studies, earlier today my twitter feed was a buzz with “JollaMobile” who are apparently a gorup of Ex-Nokian and Meego fans who have gotten together with plans to re-incarnate Meego and build upon the current versions, hopefully bringing updates to the N9 & N950. Hopefully this isn’t another hoax like “Nokia Plan B” that everyone went crazy over last year and ended up being “A Bored engineer with his iPhone”.

Jolla continues Nokia’s excellent work on #MeeGo based smartphones together with the #N9 core professionals and#MeeGo community alumni

Side note- @JollaMobile already have more twitter followers than Tizen, the alter ego of Meego.

Leaked! Nokia Lumia 910 on RDA

A mysterious device named Nokia Lumia 910 popped in the list of Nokia remote device access(RDA), a tool which gives the info on the latest hardware to the developers.

Possibilities of what Nokia Lumia 910 can be:

Some of tech experts are saying Lumia 910 is a T-Mobile variant for the Lumia 900 and it will not be based on Windows phone 8, Windows phone 7 instead.As well in the past there were some rumours of T-Mobile getting their own flavour of Lumia 900.
My speculation on above possibility: Nokia has recently not changed the model number of their devices for T-Mobile, for example: T-Mobile Lumia 710, etc.So this might not be a T-Mobile’s variant of Lumia 900.
Previously in Feb 2012 there were certain rumors of the 12Mp variant of the Lumia 900 which came into state of play many times.So it could be a 12Mp variant of Lumia 900 for other countries.
It could be the leaked developer prototype device which was used at Microsoft summit.Or it could be just another WP8 device being tested under the new hardware.

Nokia 808 Pureview delayed & pulled from Amazon UK search results

Hi all, it’s been a while since I have posted on here, and I am sorry to say it’s going to be a rant!

It appears that Amazon UK have been having issues getting stock of the UK version of the Nokia 808 pureview which was due to be in a week ago, which then turned to stock due in Thursday 5th July, and now they have pulled the phone from search results and if you have ordered one, I’m sure you got an e-mail from Amazon like I did, saying their supplier (aka Nokia) cannot get the phone to them (see copy of e-mail below).

E-mail from Amazon:

Hello,

We regret to inform you that your order will take longer to fulfill than originally estimated. Our supplier has notified us that there is a delay obtaining stock for the following items you ordered on July 04 2012.

“Nokia 808 PureView Sim Free Mobile Phone – Black”

We are awaiting a revised estimate from our supplier, and will email you as soon as we receive this information.

If you would prefer to cancel the item, please visit Your Account on the link below:

AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH

What this means is that they have essentially pulled the listing and if you did order or had a link to the page it has gone from a pre-order page to a “Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available.” page.

Nokia are really taking the p*** with this…what was Elop on about shorter time frame from announcement to launch, this really is not what he promised!!!

Not sure when this became available, but, well it’s in stock with Free super saver shipping in Amazon USA ($699).

Here’s a surprisingly pretty weather app, demoed on the Nokia N8, quite Metro in its panoramic display of information. See, Metro is nice as long as it’s not called Metro, no?

It also has a pretty neat widget counterpart.
