Nokia “Atlas” for Verizon Leaks, is this the Nokia Lumia 822?

Posted: 09 Oct 2012 11:57 AM PDT

Verizon Wireless customers are usually able to pick up the latest LTE Android phones, but now they also have the choice to pick up a Windows Phone model, a fresh one made by Nokia. This leak came courtesy of the Twitter account @evleaks, that actually became famous weeks ago, when they leaked the Lumia 920 and 820 ahead of their official debut.

This time they leaked a device called Nokia Atlas, also known as the Nokia Lumia 822. The phone comes with a unique design language, that reminds us a bit of the Lumia 710, especially with the rounded corners and all. The Atlas remains a mystery as far as specs go, but it sure does look like midrange material. The image shows it supports 4G LTE connectivity and I expect to see a 4.3 inch display on board, maybe the same 480 x 800 pixel resolution typical for midrange phones and maybe a 5 MP camera.

The white and grey versions of the phone are mentioned in the table below, that was also leaked. Of course, this may end up being Verizon’s version of the Nokia Lumia 820 and we all know that US carriers sometimes have the talent of changing specs and designs of the same unit.

After HTC launched the long rumored improved One X – called HTC One X+ - it is time for rumors about the manufacturer’s upcoming devices to again surface on the web. A new HTC device featuring a 5-inch display has been in the center of attention for some time, to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Note II.

Football4PDA, one source for device rumors with a good reputation, has tweeted the naming and some of the specs for HTC’s own phablet. According to the source the new device will be named the HTC DLX. It packs an extremely powerful hardware configuration, similar to what we find in devices like the LG Optimus G. The highlight however is not the quad-core Snapdragon S4 chipset, but rather the 5-inch Full HD display, offering a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

The HTC DLX has its CPU’s clocked at 1.5Ghz with the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, the only one said to offer close to PC performance. There are 1.5 GB of RAM for multitasking and apps. Another feature of the device is its 12MP camera, packing without a doubt HTC’s proprietary image chip for increased performance. A 2,500mAh battery will cover all the power necessities and it is even said that the device will be running Android 4.1.2 - enhanced version of Jelly Bean. Whether these rumors are true or not, it is most likely that the new device will be announced next year.

Samsung Galaxy Note II Unboxed at Our Sister Site, Tablet-News.com (Video)

Posted: 09 Oct 2012 06:24 AM PDT

You probably know that GSMDome.com and Tablet-News.com are sister sites, so we must inform you that recently they posted a very nice unboxing for the Samsung Galaxy Note II. The famous 5.5 inch phablet has reached them for testing purposes and the first impressions are quite good. This product was showcased at IFA 2012 in Berlin at the end of August and it should reach US stores this month.

The phablet comes in Titanium Grey or Marble White and they’re testing the latter. Note II has a rumored price tag of $800 for the US market, without contract. The device measures 9.4 mm in thickness, weighs 183 grams and feels comfortable if you’ve got big hands. It’s also easy to use with one hand and inside its box there’s a charger, USB cable, battery, headphones and manual. The next gen S Pen stylus is embedded at the back of the phablet and supports 1024 levels of pressure, like the Galaxy Note 10.1 stylus.

Note II has a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and it comes with either 16, 32 or 64 GB of storage, plus 2 GB of RAM. Its processor and camera are exactly the same ones as those of the Galaxy S III: an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p capture and a quad core Exynos CPU, respectively. The new Galaxy Note runs Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and in the video you can also see the feature Air View, with the hovering pen demoed.

Samsung Galaxy Music Officially Announced, Strangely It Includes a Projector

Posted: 09 Oct 2012 06:14 AM PDT

After a period of rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Music has become official, being announced by Samsung. This music phone has the potential of becoming big, especially since the music handset segment has been quiet for a while now, lacking the fame of the good old days of the Nokia XpressMusic and Sony Walkman. The Galaxy Music runs Android 4.0 ICS and packs a powerful CPU.

The handset incorporates dual frontal stereo speakers, FM radio and advanced audio features like Sound Alive and SRS. Other features include HSDPA connectivity, a 3 inch QVGA TFT display and a 3 megapixel camera without flash and fixed focus. Strangely enough Samsung also lists a WVGA projector (9 lumen and 1 W) on the specs list of the phone, although on the official pics the projector is nowhere to be found. The device comes with Samsung TouchWiz, Samsung Apps, Samsung Music Hub and Game Hub Lite.

It has GPS, Glonass, a built in FM antenna, smart volume and Bluetooth 3.0. WiFi and 4 GB of user memory are available as well on the specs list, plus 512 MB of RAM, a microSD card slot and a standard Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery. The phone measures 12.25 mm in thickness, weighs 106.9 grams and we have no idea when it will launch or what the price will be. Galaxy Music will also come in a dual SIM version called Galaxy Music Duos.

LG Nexus Prototype Leaks, First in Dummy Case Then Finalized Design

Posted: 09 Oct 2012 01:59 AM PDT

Just hours ago a LG prototype device hit the web, being dubbed as the next Google Nexus phone. Its design was hidden by an outer casing, but just hours later it was leaked again, this time in the final form. We’ve been hearing about an LG Nexus Phone for a while now and it has finally come true. The pics show a device that’s quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and also it has an interesting back texture.

The LG Nexus codename is now Mako and the specs are confirmed thanks to a Nenamark benchmark result. It appears this model features Qualcomm’s 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, with Adreno 320 GPU. It should also feature 2 GB of RAM and 13 megapixel camera, if the relation to the LG Optimus G is kept. It should also get the 4.7 inch 1280 x 768 pixel display of the Optimus G and the it appears that the screen is showing a model number that’s “Fully Jelly Bean on Mako”.

The codename Mako fits a type of shark and Android loves should know that all the Google Android phone phones have been codenamed after fish, even back in the days of the T-Mobile G1. There’s another codename, the E960, that was spotted a while ago in the FCC tests, prompting the first rumors about the LG Nexus phone. Late October is the rumored debut time frame for this unit, apparently. Who’s excited about this newcomer, that will potentially usher Android 4.2 into the world?

This is the fourth largest carrier in the nation, that has the exclusivity to the Nokia Lumia 810. It will be a variant of the Nokia Lumia 820 and it will look exactly like it on the outside. It packs a 4.3 inch clear black AMOLED display with WVGA resolution and a pixel density of 217 ppi and under the hood we find a dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU, of the MSM8960 kind.

Sony Xperia C650X Odin Leaked, Supposedly It’s the New Flagship

Posted: 09 Oct 2012 12:44 AM PDT

Sony has been leaking so many handsets this year, that we don’t even know which one actually became a real device or not. We are still waiting for that legendary Xperia X flagship or maybe the Xperia Play 2, but they failed to show up till now. Today’s leak is the Sony Xperia C650X Odin, supposed to be the next big thing from Sony.

Let me remind you that Sony has yet to debut a quad core phone and also a Jelly Bean device, if I’m not mistaking. The Odin is part of a leaked user agent profile, that details 3 new phones for 2013. This device is known under a bunch of model numbers: C6502, C6503 and C6506. The different last numbers stand for regional variations of the device. Rumors say that the device runs Android 4.1.1 and sadly this is where the information stops. The other two newcomers are similar to the current Xperia Tip and Miro entry level units.

They both pack HVGA screens and run Android 4.0.4 ICS. The C160X packs a Snapdragon S4 Play chipset, with a single 1 GHz Cortex A5 core and Adreno 200 graphics. The C150X has most likely the same platform behind it. I can speculate that the Odin may also adopt the Snapdragon S4, but in the quad core Pro form.
