LG Optimus L9 Leaks With T-Mobile Branding

Posted: 04 Oct 2012 03:50 AM PDT

LG Optimus L9 has been announced a while ago, but we’ve yet to find out through which carriers the handset will debut. That was until today when we saw a shot of the handset leaking with the T-Mobile branding on. You should also know that MetroPCS and T-Mobile have merged, in case you were wondering what happened with the former’s devices.

LG and T-Mobile have not yet announced the availability of the handset, although specs are official. This seems to be quite a good smartphone, a midrange close to the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to hardware. The pleasant surprise here is the 4.7 inch high definition IPS display, that’s accompanied by a 1 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel camera and a 2,150 mAh battery. It also features the LG QTranslator app, that comes with OCR technology and it’s able to translate words and sentences from 44 different source languages to more than 60 user languages.

LG Optimus L9 adopts the classic L Style design philosophy, with a 9.1 mm thin body, a metallic streak around the device and the squared look already famous on the LG Optimus 4X HD, LG Optimus Vu and other modern LG phones. The handset weighs 125 grams and has a front VGA camera, plus support for DLNA.

HTC One X+ SIM Free Version Up for Preorder in UK, via Clove

Posted: 04 Oct 2012 02:16 AM PDT

Announced this week, HTC One X+ is now up for preorder in UK via Clove Technology. The device is available for $763 including VAT and it’s the unbranded and unlocked version we’re talking about here, without carrier commitment. In case you didn’t know, the handset brings an improved battery and CPU compared to the original HTC One X.

One X+ also features the new HTC Sense 4+ user interface on top of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. To that we add 64 GB of internal memory and an extra 25 GB of storage in the cloud via Dropbox for 2 years. The product ships on October 22nd. Across the pond, the new HTC smartphone is expected on AT&T, with 4G LTE connectivity and keeping the same 4.7 inch HD display of the predecessor, a Super LCD 2 screen with Gorilla Glass protection. Also kept is the 8 megapixel back camera with ImageSense technology, fast shutter and simultaneous photo and video capture.

Upfront we’ve got a 1.6 megapixel camera and you should know that the battery stays non removable and the SIM slot is a micro SIM, unless HTC decides to go the Apple way with nano SIM. So, will you choose this model over the Galaxy S III, or maybe prefer the LG Optimus G?

LG Optimus G Coming to AT&T With Quad Core CPU, 2 GB of RAM, 8 MP Camera (Video)

Posted: 04 Oct 2012 01:39 AM PDT

AT&T and LG officially confirmed the local launch of the LG Optimus G monster of a smartphone, headed to AT&T. LG unveiled the device barely a week or two ago and so far we’ve only heard rumors about an AT&T launch. Today the rumors have been confirmed and the device is promised with AT&T 4G LTE connectivity.

LG Optimus G is particularly appealing, because it has the most impressive of any smartphones showcased so far. The device offers a brand new 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor by Qualcomm, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 2100 mAh battery for good all day use. Sadly they didn’t keep the 13 megapixel cam for the US version, only implementing an 8 megapixel shooter this time. Optimus G has one of the best displays to ever grace the American soil, a 4.7 inch True HD IPS panel by LG.

It comes with a new technology that makes the screen “closer to your finger” and provides a vivid and colorful experience, plus has great response times. It’s obvious that LG is aiming at fighting the Galaxy S III with this phone and the South Korean company has really worked on its UI, that will be applied on top of Android 4.0 ICS, so sadly no love for Jelly Bean this time around. Zero shutter lag camera, picture in picture features for videos and apps and a ton of other cool features are also coming with this model.
