LG Official Confirms Nexus 4 Phone, Coming on October 29th, Debuting in India in Late November

Posted: 23 Oct 2012 01:48 AM PDT

After numerous leaks and even a Russian review, the LG Nexus 4 is finally official, kind of… An LG official confirmed the existence of the device at an Optimus Vu launch in India. LG’s head of Mobile Product Planning was the one to confirm it for the debut on October 29th, when the Google event takes place.

Also, it appears that the new Nexus phone will debut in India in late November. This means that we’ll have a faster launch than usual, with the Nexus phones usually taking quite some time to arrive internationally. Of course, it could be just a remark made by an LG official, maybe not knowing Google plans, but it sounds plausible. I have to remind you that the LG Nexus 4 is the twin of the LG Optimus G with some changes in the specs and design area.

LG Nexus 4 brings a design similar to the Galaxy Nexus, an 8 megapixel camera, 8/16GB of storage, a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU and 2 GB of RAM. It’s also supposed to run Android 4.2, an OS that should debut on the 29th this month, during a special event where more Nexus phones are supposed to appear.

Nokia Debuts Budget Lumia 510 Windows Phone 7.5 Device (Video)

Nokia has just debuted another budget phone with Windows Phone on board, the Lumia 510, that fits somewhere between the Asha series and the Lumia 610. It packs a 4 inch 480 x 800 pixel display and runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Here’s what the device looks like, in all its splendor.

You must also know that this model packs a 5 megapixel camera at the back, it has no front facing camera and inside there’s an 800 MHz Qualcomm processor, plus 256 MB RAM and 4 GB of non expandable storage. There’s even a promise that Mango will get upgraded to Windows Phone 7.8 on this handset at some point. I imagine that this device will have a price of around $150, if I were to speculate.

The problem is that there are already very cheap Android phones, with dual SIM card slots and even better specs, plus cooler apps and lower prices for applications. That’s why the public may find them more appealing than Windows Phones at times. At least the camera on this Lumia newcomer looks appealing.
