Samsung Galaxy S III Available in Blue and White Initially Posted: 02 May 2012 02:50 PM PDT Samsung Galaxy S III has managed to have most things leaked about it so far: its form factor, quad core CPU, screen protection, the dummy case around it and now its color versions. These are blue and white, at least initially, according to a Carphone Warehouse inventory listing found by GSMArena. As a quick reminded, the Galaxy Nexus came in grey or white, while the Galaxy S II could be found in black, white and hot pink, but the colours came a bit later after the original version was launched. I can say that these colour versions for the Galaxy S III were predictable, since the invitations sent to the press for launch event of the phone included blue and white blobs of colour. Carphone Warehouse is a trusted UK seller, so the source is pretty legit. I have to remind you that in mere hours the Samsung Unpacked event will unfold, bringing us the Samsung Galaxy S III in it all its splendor. The debut takes place in London, starting at 7 pm in London (local time). So, any final wishes of specs to include on the phone? Maybe wishful thinking can help it pack that desired 12MP camera… Related posts: |
Samsung Galaxy S III Screen Protector Leaks in Fresh Picture, Compared to Galaxy S II Posted: 02 May 2012 04:47 AM PDT We’ve had enough Galaxy S III leaks to last for a lifetime over the past weeks and now we have one more, this time not one of the device, but a picture of its screen protector instead. The protector is applied to the Samsung Galaxy S II for comparison sake, so we can get a better idea of what to expect here. Notice how big the protector is compared to the 4.3 inch display of last year’s hot Samsung smartphone. This seems to fit with the rumors saying that the new device will have a 4.7 or 4.8 inch display. Also, I can see that the lower part of the protector is rounded, fitting those leaked pictures from last week, showing us a Galaxy S III with rounded corners. The physical Home button is also confirmed to be present, bigger and with rounded edges. One must also notice that the screen protection is about as wide as the Galaxy S II, so the width of the new model hasn’t been increased by much. Samsung is expected to unveil the new Galaxy S unit tomorrow, May 3rd during a special event in London. Right now we have a bunch of things confirmed: the quad core Exynos processor, the big display with 720p resolution, 8 or 12 megapixel camera, Android 4.0 and the name Galaxy S III. Will this model be a disappointment or a surprise? What do you think? Related posts: |
User Agent Profile Details Samsung Galaxy S III With Qualcomm S4 CPU Posted: 02 May 2012 02:46 AM PDT It appears that the Samsung Galaxy S III won’t only be a quad core Exynos affair, but it will also have a Qualcomm S4 processor version. That was uncovered through an user agent profile, that appeared online yesterday and confirmed that the Verizon version of the Galaxy S III may replace the Exynos with another processor. It appears that Samsung chose the Qualcomm dual core S4 processor for the Verizon version, a very popular choice these days, also popping up on the HTC One XL and ASUS PadFone. It’s no wonder we’ve heard rumors about shortages in Qualcomm chip productions, since everyone wants their goods. Back to the American Galaxy S III, this model is codenamed SCH-I535 and it showed up in a UA string with specs that certainly look like Samsung’s next flagship. These include a 720p HD display, Android 4.0 as the OS and a Qualcomm MSM8960 CPU. The handset even follows the traditional naming pattern adopted by Verizon and Samsung. The Galaxy Nexus had the codenamed SCH-I515, the Droid Charge was the SCH-I510 and the Galaxy S Fascinate was the SCH-I500. The reason for opting for the Qualcomm solution? The usual fear that US LTE technology won’t work with the quad core CPU on board, this time the Exynos. On the HTC One X the Tegra 3 was the problem and it seems that the unique combo between LTE and 3G bands in the USA is prompting these CPU changes. Related posts: |
Samsung Galaxy S III Fresh Picture Leaked Posted: 02 May 2012 12:37 AM PDT Just one day ahead of the big unveiling of the Galaxy S III in London, we spotted another pic of the model known as I9300. This one is once again rectangular, unlike the last units, that were rounded up. At least the Home button is pretty much the same, meaning that it’s a physical button that’s a bit more rounded and bigger than on previous phones. SamMobile received these pictures showing the handset in a dummy case, so that’s why the rounded edges are lacking. The rounded areas can be seen in the picture and you can spot the rectangular casing covering them. Know that this model runs Android 4.0.4 out of the box and the tipster behind this leak says that the product will retail as early as next week, so maybe that explains the Samsung Russia countdown to May 5th… will they start selling the new flagship then?! Also, the same tipster seems sure that Samsung will unveil another Galaxy device, aside from the Galaxy S III. Will it be a new Note, the 11.6 inch quad core Galaxy Tab or simply a new Galaxy handset model with unique features, maybe 3D screen? Stay tuned and we’ll let you know! Related posts: |
