Samsung Galaxy S III Coming to All Four Big US Operators; Fancy Names Ready?

Posted: 05 May 2012 02:59 AM PDT

You probably know that when a Galaxy S model reaches the US carriers, it automatically gets one of those cool names. Well, now it’s the turn of the Galaxy S III to do that, as the 4.8 inch handset has just been confirmed to reach all 4 major US operators.

The new flagship was announced in London on May 3rd and it comes with an Exynos quad core CPU, 8 megapixel camera with zero shutter lag, a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display and Android 4.0 ICS. When it was announced, this model was confirmed for sale on about 300 wireless service provides around the world in the following months. Right after the launch Samsung posted an official page on its US website, allowing users to sign up and receive info about the phone’s local launch.

That page features a drop down menu that includes some carrier preference options, like AT&T, C Spire Wireless, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless. It’s strange that popular options such as Cricket are lacking, but I’m sure they’ll come sooner or later.
