Towers N Trolls Review – Free Tower Defense Game on Android (Video) Posted: 24 May 2012 03:27 PM PDT Since we had the HTC Desire C for a review, we also gave a cute little game a spin on it and reviewed it for you. The title is called Towers and Trolls and it’s available for free in the Google Play Store. You can download it from here and know that it’s an addictive tower defense title, that will eat up long hours of your life. The format is classic: you go against trolls, goblins and various other fantastic foes and build crossbows, ice towers, lightning towers and catapults to defeat them. There are several paths that enemies take to attack your castle, that you must defend using the previous mentioned weapons. There are also bombs and poison clouds you can place in their path to destroy them or slow them down. Once the enemies kick the bucket you get paid and use those funds to buy more towers or repair them. You also collect gems, used to buy extra bombs or unlock new levels. You can pause the game at any time and plan strategies or simply play it in real time and wait for the wave of enemies to come. This is a classic tower defense game that I like very much and that you’ll find addictive over time. A solid recommendation from us! Related posts: |
Google Rumored to Launch Five Nexus Devices on November 5th, Android’s 5th Birthday Posted: 24 May 2012 03:13 PM PDT In case you didn’t know, Android will be exactly 5 years old this fall and it might celebrate its birthday with a cool launch, of no less than 5 new devices, according to rumors. A reliable source is quoted by TalkAndroid as saying that Google will celebrate Android’s 5th year of existence with 5 different Nexus devices. 5 different manufacturers will be involved and speculations say that on Thanksgiving (November 22nd), Google will sell these new products via the Google Play Store. Also, November 5th is mentioned as the date when the 5 newcomer handsets/tablets will debut. They will have Android 5.0 Jellybean as OS and will probably be made by the likes of ASUS, Motorola, Sony, Samsung and HTC. A Nexus tablet is also in the works and that’s probably handled by ASUS, according to rumors. Next month we’ll get more details, as Google I/O debuts on June 27th and probably brings a preview or even launch of Android 5.0 Jellybean, if we’re lucky. Android 4.0 was quite an evolution from Gingerbread, the previous phone OS, but not such a major jump from Honeycomb. Will Jellybean surprise us even more? Related posts: |
Samsung Galaxy Appeal Unveiled by AT&T: Fresh QWERTY Slider is Here Posted: 24 May 2012 09:21 AM PDT AT&T just announced a new handset for the prepaid range: Samsung Galaxy Appeal, the slider you can see pictured below. This device will be available in Walmart stores first starting next month, with a price tag of $150. Other AT&T GoPhone retail locations will follow in July. The specs of the handset include a 800 MHz ARM Cortex A5 processor (Qualcomm MSM7225A chipset), 512MB of RAM and 1.8GB of built in memory. Obviously there’s a microSD card slot in here too, plus a 3.2 inch HVGA display and a 3 megapixel camera. Powering this newcomer is a Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery and the OS here is Android 2.3 Gingerbread with a touch of TouchWiz… Considering the size of the screen and its specs, I’d say that the price is just about right, unless you consider that for the same money you can get two Android 4.0 tablets in China with the exact same processors as this phone. At least the keyboard looks comfortable… Related posts: |
LG LS860 Leaks: LTE Phone with 5 Row Sliding QWERTY Keyboard Posted: 24 May 2012 01:46 AM PDT BriefMobile has just received a very interesting picture from a tipster, showing a brand new LG phone dubbed LG LS860 Cayenne. This is supposed to be a LTE phone on Sprint, featuring a 5 row QWERTY keyboard, with a sliding mechanism. You can see a blurry shot of the device below: This is not a 2GB RAM phone or one packing a 13MP camera, like the last LG models we’ve seen. Instead it’s a smartphone with decent specs, like a 4 inch IPS screen, a 1.2 GHz dual core CPU and an allure of a Droid 4 rival. I expect Android 4.0 ICS to be preinstalled here, with a solid hint being those 3 capacitive buttons below the display. If I were to speculate, I’d say there’s a 5MP camera at the back, but an 8 MP shooter is also pretty likely. Also, the keyboard looks pretty comfortable. Battery size and overall dimensions are a mystery for this phone, but it does look like a bulky and wide affair. If it gets a nice plan and great LTE speeds, it may just become the next Sidekick replacement and a future follow-up for what the Milestone Motorola phones once were… Related posts: |
