Samsung Galaxy S III versus Galaxy Note: Duel of the Giants (Video) Posted: 12 May 2012 03:43 PM PDT If you want to decided what to buy, between the Galaxy Note and the fresh Samsung Galaxy S III, the video comparison below may help you. On one side we have the 5.3 inch smartablet that already generated sales of millions and on the other we have the quad core 4.8 inch smartphone. Luckily Slashgear had some fun with the Galaxy S III during CTIA and came up with a comparison. On the performance side, the new Galaxy S has the upper hand, since it uses a quad core Exynos processor, compared to the dual core Exynos on the Galaxy Note. As far as screens go, the battle is tight, since both models have Super AMOLED displays and the resolutions are similar: 1280 x 800 for the Galaxy Note and 1280 x 720 for the Galaxy S III. However, due to the diagonal the pixel density is better on the new Galaxy S. The cameras should be about the same and I say that having tested the Galaxy Note’s 8MP shooter and having found it incredible. Now the two models also share the OS, since Galaxy Note got Android 4.0 this week. However, the Note also has an extra: the S Pen stylus with all the lovely associated apps and the Premium Suite that came recently. It’s actually pretty hard to choose between the two, but the new technologies on the Galaxy S III (its cool voice assistant, pop up play, eye detection and more) make it the more modern and viable choice. Samsung SPH-L300 LTE Snadpragon S4 Phone Leaks Posted: 12 May 2012 07:21 AM PDT Well, who said that only HTC had cool looking Snapdragon S4-based phones? Samsung also leaked one such model, that has a very interesting design. Called Samsung SPH-L300 right now, this LTE phone with S4 CPU just hit the web through the following picture and there’s also a bunch of specs accompanying it. This faux metal border phone has embossed hardware keys and it has a pretty thick case, measuring 12mm. Its screen supports a WVGA resolution and it’s 4 inch display we’re talking about here. SPH-L300 is said to come with Android 4.0.4 ICS and it’s powered by the S4 chipset MSM8960 with a dual core Krait CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz. We also get 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. There’s a 5 megapixel camera at the back, a front camera too, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0. I see what Samsung is doing here: basically they’re offering the processing power of the HTC One high end models, but other lower end specs (camera and display) on a cheaper model, hoping to draw the people who can’t really afford a HTC One X or One S right now. Sounds like a smart move to me! Related posts: |
Sony Xperia ST21i Tapioca Gets Previewed, Runs Android 4.0 ICS Posted: 12 May 2012 06:35 AM PDT The folks of Mobile Review managed to score a Sony Xperia ST21i Tapioca for testing purposes. This Android 4.0 handset is one of those entry level smartphones that will surely make a very good rival for the likes of HTC Desire C. Here’s the handset: The Android 4.0 phone reminds me of the Xperia Active, especially the back side, while the front shows an interesting sloped lower area. The Tapioca comes with a 3.2 inch HVGA display, WiFi, a 3 megapixel rear camera and an 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor. There’s also 512MB of RAM on board, 3GB of storage space and a microSD card slot. Android 4.0 runs well on the device, according to the guys who previewed it. It appears that Sony Xperia ST21i Tapioca will cost around 200 euros and it will be released soon. With models such as this one, the Desire C and the LG Optimus L3, Android is more accessible than ever, even in its latest release. Nice to see that low prices smartphones made by big brands are slowly turning into quality units. What do you think about this evolution? Related posts: |
