ZOMG!: topolino70′s stunning Nokia 808 PureView 1080p sample. Breathtaking.

We have showcased tons of Nokia N8 videos but one creator we show time and time again is Tommi or as you know him better as, .

He showed of the Nokia N8′s raw skills more so than anyone, so colour me excited when he shared a tip that he had a Nokia 808 PureView sample for us to share.

This is all straight from the phone. It is sooo beautiful. No extra lenses – the bokeh is real pretty. The zoom is insane.

These are NOT photographs. They’re screensnaps of a tiny portion of the YouTube player.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more interesting video of a snail. Watch it curl out of its shell.

Listen for the birds chirping. It sounds like one of those nature CDs.
This! Finland is a beauty. There’s no need to go jetting off to locations upon locations. What this shows off best is simple every day things looking amazing with the Nokia 808 PureView.
I have been priviledged to use this magnificient camera phone. It has been a pure joy to shoot pictures and videos with it.All videos shot using only Nokia 808 and tripod. NO macro lenses or other lenses used.
All video samples in this video are straight from the camera. I have not done any processing to the video but only pasted them together using Sony Vegas video editor. The audio is also separately recorded with Nokia 808 phone. I wanted to switch the original audio tracks because they were so noisy because of the wind.
Without further ado

I love changing focus on the fly. Focus close to get bokeh.
Bokeh snail!
Colours looking superb. This could easily be my desktop wallpaper.
I love PureView.

Lumiappaday #179: The Impossible Game demoed on the Nokia Lumia 800

Posted: 12 May 2012 12:12 PM PDT

This is one of the most addicting/frustrating running style games out there. It’s called, quite aptly, ‘The Impossible Game’ because that’s what it feels like.

If you can calm yourself enough to keep giving it a go, you might be there for a while. Mistakes mean an instant death and restart at the very beginning. So annoying.

However, you can quite strategically play the practice mode. Whilst running and you reach a hard stage, practice will allow you to respawn at that portion. However that doesn’t count towards your overall progression since it’s practice. Remove the practice mode and tackle the hurdle. If you still fail, well back to the beginning. URGH!

It’s fun, give it a go!

There’s a version for Symbian (cheers spacemodel) – looking at the ratings there, they’re loving this game too!

Developer Blurb:

The best selling iPhone App and Xbox Live Indie Game comes to Windows Phone 7 – it’s quite possibly the world’s hardest game!

With just one control, tapping the screen to jump, guide your orange square over spikes and jump onto blocks to get to the end of the level. Any mistake will result in instant death and a respawn at the beginning of the level. With an awesome soundtrack synced to the game you'll quickly become addicted!

Also included is a Practice Mode, allowing you to lay checkpoints along the way. Try and unlock medals throughout the game, including beating the game with no flags. Check out the Stats page, where you can see how far you got through the level!

Praise for The Impossible Game on Xbox 360:

“Bafflingly addictive… Give it a try and see how long your sanity lasts.”

- Eurogamer.net

“Platforming is taken back to its roots”

- GameTrailers

“The Impossible Game is somehow compulsive yet simultaneously, thoroughly unenjoyable.”

- Negative Gamer

Video: Conclusion of Aaron’s (PhoneDog) 30 Day challenge with Nokia Lumia 900

Posted: 12 May 2012 04:28 AM PDT

For a whole month, everyday, Aaron took the Nokia Lumia 900 for a spin, sharing what he liked and didn’t like about the Nokia Lumia 900.

Here’s the final concluding piece:

The Nokia Lumia 900 Challenge is complete, and all things considered, Windows Phone has a champion on their hands. The Lumia 900 has some great features like strong wireless connectivity, great battery life, and a killer build quality, but Windows Phone lacks some features like true multitasking and a strong app catalog. Still, for $99.99, you can’t go wrong with this device. If Microsoft gets a few more of these high-end $100 devices under their belt, they’ll be very successful.

iBomber Defense for S^3 – Demoed on N8

Posted: 12 May 2012 04:12 AM PDT

Here’s a pretty cool game that was just released for Symbian devices- it’s called iBomber Defense and it’s pretty sweet.

I think the N9 did a pretty decent job focusing on such small movements on the screen- quite impressive.
